Sam Reinhart for the playoff push?

Sam Reinhart just got dropped in my league by the team I'll be facing in the semis next week (who also happens to be the Eichel owner, interestingly enough) and I currently sit in the #1 waiver priority so if I want him bad enough I'm guaranteed the pickup. Daniel Sedin would be my drop.

The Sabres play four games next week, three of which are on slower nights with lots of room to dress him. Having Reinhart and Risto would give me about as good a counter to Eichel as I could hope for in what is already likely to be a super tight matchup against a deep team.

The question is, should I get there, are you guys sold on Reinhart producing consistently ROS beyond the semis? I've already traded my first and second overall picks in playoff push deals (Kopitar and Krug) and our league is pretty slow to turn over waiver priority so I probably wouldn't get back to #1 until middle of next season.

I'm leaning towards saying screw it and using my waiver since I've already gone this far anyway. But I'm still curious to know what the experts here project for Reinhart down the final stretch.

I think theres alot to like about swapping him for sedin , especially that nice off night sked coming up and the obvious bump in production he's been displaying .

and if your league uses c/lw/rw reinhart has all three designations , at least in the one league I'm in that uses those position / fantrax.

With 13 pts in his last 12 games and skating first line minutes and seeing his PP time double since Kane was shipped out, ya, I think this is a solid move. No one knows for sure, but it certainly does look like Sam's coming out party is now in full swing. I think burning that waiver priority is worth it unless you think you can pick someone up later that will actually be a keeper for you....seems unlikely. I say go for it.

There definitely won't be any keeper quality players dropped, mostly just third line plugs or backup goalies that get cycled in and out throughout the week as streamers. This other owner dropped Sam to get Eichel off the IR but in doing so gave up some valuable double point scoring play chances. I can neutralize Eichel pretty well I think by picking him up. Winning this matchup would get me into the finals where I may have a 40% or so chance of winning it all. Going to pull the trigger on this.

Screw next season, use your priority waiver for whatever gives you the best shot to win. Worry about next year.....next year.

No brainer. Use the waiver on him and drop Sedin.

I also picked up Reinhart for next week so we'll be in the same boat with him if you go for it.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm definitely going to put in the claim and pick him up for the semis and beyond. I think he's got a strong finish in him especially with Eichel back in the lineup.
