Backes injury at first thought to be very serious.. David Backes and Yanni Gourde were skating towards the net and it looked like Backes was holding up Gourde and they both went down.. Gourde's skate somehow cut the back of Backes leg, Backes needed to be helped off.. Backes ended up getting a laceration above his right knee that required 18 stitches and they are saying it isn't as serious as they first thought.. "Day to day"
