TITLE PUSH - Who Are My Keepers? WILL REP :)

My team finished first in the regular season, and I'm in a tight semi-final match-up. Trying to plan ahead for the weekend and potentially next week, as some tough decisions may have to be made to max out man games and gun for the title. I also made some trades at or near the deadline to bolster my line-up, bringing in Hoffman (for Skinner and picks), Faulk (pick), Jenner (pick), and RyJo - picks....need to make a plan for them, among others.

It's a keep-12 H2H. G, A, SOG, PPP, HITS, BLKS, FOW, CLUTCH (shp + gwg + shoot out goals), WIN + SO, SAVES, SV%

My definite keepers are bolded:

C: Backstrom, E. Staal, R. Johansen, Kesler, Pageau
LW: Giroux (LW/C), Benn (LW/C), E. Kane, B. Jenner
RW: Laine, Hoffman (LW/RW), Hornqvist, Gallagher
D: Karlsson, Letang, Provorov, Faulk, streamers
G: Rask, Schneider, Smith

That's 10, which leaves me having to choose between keeping 2 of the following:

E. Staal - (drafted him quite late, has been a monster this year. 33 though, don't think I want to spend a keeper on him)
RyJo - deadline acquisition for me, he's having a down year offensively. 25, on a stacked team, and is great in my format with FOW and hits.
E. Kane - frustrating at times, but elite SOG and a stat-stuffer. Love him on the Sharks, may have to wait to see if he re-signs)
Hornqvist- awesome situation and great in my format, just a little older
Kesler - not playing at 100%. is he done, or does he bounce back next year after a healthy summer?
Faulk - possible trade in offseason, Oilers?

I'm having a tough time narrowing that list down to 2, would love some input form the board.....if you disagree with my chosen keepers, feel free to let me know. Thanks in advance, and rep to all!

I'm keeping RyJo and Hornqvist.
Prime spots in the lineups on each of their respective teams and fill your stat columns.
Hornqvist is what you hope E.Kane to be.

I'm selling high on E.Staal and E.Kane in the off-season.
I am personally not a big fan of E.Kane so if you can use his new team to sell him to another GM go for it, if he ends up doing well, so be it, you could a decent return for him.

And hoping you can re-draft Kesler.
With an off year hopefully he falls down the draft boards and you can snag him again.

The easy keep there for me is RyJo. Tough calls after that. Probably Horn?

Horny and Staal for me. Staal did it last year too so this year not a 'fluke'; my gut says sell high on Staal but I feel Ryjo will continue to disapoint in Nashville

Johansen... if you are only keep Backstrom you can keep another C for sure! and he has a great situation.

I must be missing something, because it sounds like you are in tight semi-final matchup and are worried about next year's keepers as opposed to just trying to win your league. I wouldn't worry at all about next year's keepers outside your group of 10. I just keep the guys with the best playoff schedule.

I strongly dislike Evander Kane but I'm keeping him along with Eric Staal from these options.

Well, I too, am not sure why you are concerned about this at this point but to answer your question, I like Staal and Horny and if you want to roll the dice and hope Kane has finally grown up, then he's definitely in the mix as well. Gun to my head, Staal and Kane.

He is concerned about his keepers now because he wants to maximize man games in order to win the championship. He is obviously considering dropping the players he won't be keeping for guys in his free agent pool that can help him win this week and next week's matchup.

This, thank you...not sure why that is such a mystery. I'm not going to drop obvious quality keepers just to gain a man-game or two, do people really do that? Firming up who my ideal keepers are will make decisions easier should I need to drop a bubble guy. Thanks for the help everyone!

Target, Ryjo, Kane, Horny, Faulk, to keep for the stretch run and you can decide who to keep after that. The rest can be moved for the stretch drive where needed.
