I got Iggy was in 2002 but can't think of who was 1980. I thought it might have been Lafluer but just looked it up but no.
Without cheating.... Hmmmmm....
Marcel Dionne and Peter Forsberg?

And then after 2001 there were 9 straight different winners. Quite the reversal.
I can't believe Gretzky won it 7 years in a row.. And Lemieux won it back to back 3 times!! Also the Penguins went 7 years in a row with a winner of this award on their team..
I also didn't know the Sedins went back to back winning this award.. How didn't I know that??

Bit off topic... kind of... but reading this thread makes me miss 90's hockey. I'm 30, born in 88' and my hockey memories from all the 90's and even the 00's make me miss it. Don't get me wrong I love hockey, will always be my favorite, will always be a fan. But the superstars of the 90's and and earlier just seem to dominate so much more then today. There was a bit of predictability back then, and I like that. Knowing your top guns will dominate and each and every year it was a battle for those top spots for points etc. I feel like nowadays its such a crap shoot. Don't get me wrong I love watching McDavid and Karlsson and the like but nothing will match up to watching Gretzky, Jagr, Lidstrom and all those players. I am probably rambling on bouncing around on what I am even talking about but basically I could of summed this all up with I miss hockey from those days.

I'm same age as you. I feel the same way. When I bring this up on discussion boards guys will get mad and say "YOU REALLY LIKE BRAIN TRAUMA IN THE NHL?". There was an intensity to the game that isn't matched in today's hockey that is for sure. A buddy of mine who said the 90's era was the best always says - today's hockey is more like pond hockey.
