I think he peaks at a ppg. Maybe a couple seasons of that.
Filip is just 23 years old. He is locked into a top line role for a power packed Nashville squad. We know he can score in bunches.
But what do we think his future holds. Is he a mid 60 point forward with good goal totals and some decent hit totals? Or can he become a point per game type player? Just curious what others here think of him over the next few seasons.

I don't see him as much more than a 30-30 guy most seasons. If he gives you more than that, I consider it a bonus. Not that there's anything wrong with being a 60ish point guy in today's NHL but people tend to project him a lot higher then that, and value him more than what he has shown he can be as well.

Nashville just to deep and they evenly split pp time, whereas most teams have a defined#1 unit. Look at Turris, Ryjo etc; their points didn't go up when going to Nashville. Tough to argue with them as 1 unit is run by Josi and the other by PK.
For this reason, I think Forsberg is a 30/35 guy with a good plus/minus; no more/less.
Maybe i'm biased cause I own him in a keeper league but Forsberg is currently playing at a 75 point pace over 82 games this season and he's only 23. There's no reason to think he can maintain that pace, if not exceed it, for a very long time.

60-75. 75 being peak with most years 60-65. The team isn't very conducive to having elite scorers which I think holds him back a bit. Also he tends to be streaky kind of like Duchene in a way. He will be valued higher then that for some time so a good sell guy.

Ive been calling FF for a ppg or better breakout since last season. Hes pretty dang close this year outside of injury. I think its possible he settles in as a 30/30 guy and agree theres nothing wrong with that, but I think hes got the an elite shooters mentality combined with a health shot volume and dangerous playmaking abilities to take the next step. I think after next year hes pretty consistently off the board by the second round of drafts...
There seems to be two different perspectives on Forsberg. Some say he is a 60 point guy and others think he can make a strong push for a point per game most seasons. Unfortunately, that leaves me in the same place I was before I posted this topic. Hehe.
It would appear Forsberg's name value carries a little more weight than his actual value, though. Food for thought. Maybe we will see something more out of him during Nashville's playoff run this season.

Im a lot higher than most- I think its an inevitabilty myself. I just covered my bases by saying 30/30 is a fantastic floor. I have very little doubt hes a point per game player. He's theoretically still in striking range this year. Hes known for going on absolute tears and a couple multi-point nights puts him right back in the running....

Tank ahad by a long shot. I just got him recently and really feel like he should be unattainable. I paid A LOT- not saying I stole him or anything- but I dont imagine any scenario where Id trade him. His production has been amazeballs without any real playmaking center. Get this man his own version of Nicklas Backstrom and watch the fireworks. Hall is second and Im a huge fan- I always believed in him. I think Forsberg will be at Halls status next year but without the injury risk (which I have no naievete about- still a major factor).
The metrics I run hard are points per 60 and anything regarding sog volume and these guys all come out smelling like burnt rubber (scorched pucks :P ).
Lock in 30-30. Goal weighted leagues is where his highest value lies. Could get to 40 a few times but I think his floor is 60 point pace and ceiling is probably around 80 but I don't expect him to get there much.

Ill try to dig up the Pekka Rinne sniper article from the players tribune. He sais Forsberg has one of (if not) the trickiest release for goaltenders to track in the whole league. Hes got emerging talent around him for basically the first time ever. Ppg status is just around the corner. Anyone who pencils him in at 30/30 will miss the boat...
58 points in 63 games. At 23 years old, I think borderline ppg is in the cards for a very long time.

Started my list yesterday and so far I got him down for around the high 60's mark for next season. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him get 70-80 points though.
