Bell could have a big ass contract himself if he wasn't such a weenie. He's such a dumbass. He keeps getting locked into these franchise contracts instead of signing a long term deal because of his arrogance but he is forgetting how short the career lifespan of most NFL running backs is. He could avoid the franchise tag if just just signed. Statistics say that the average NFL career is 3.3 years, with RBs having the shortest average career at 2.57 years. (https://www.livestrong.com/article/1...er-nfl-player/).

Here's a good read on Bell and his contract situation this off-season.

One of my favorite quotes from that link:

He clarified in an interview with ESPN that he’s “not a greedy guy” and that he just wants to be valued.

But $15 million per year is close to double what any running back in the NFL makes, so it was clear that Bell was shooting high.

Julio Jones & the Falcons are working intensively to resolve their contract differences, hoping to avoid Jones’ planned training camp holdout. The sides are focused on creatively addressing Jones’ ability to earn more than his $10.5 milllion base in ‘18. Hopeful but not done yet

    btw...

We've officially transitioned from "next season" to "this season" when discussing our drafts etc, with camps opening this week. That deserves a toast.

Now if all my players stay out of jail and off IR reports we'll be good to go.

The biggest fear is the IR. Seems like every year I lose someone in preseason/training camp to a season ender.

Jags muddled WR core just got a bit clearer. Im still avoiding them because I have no idea who will be #1 from week to week.

The quotes his O-Line said about him are showing how much character Bell has. They ripped him a new one.
