Default What to do with Holtby for ROS

I'm currently in a 3-way dog fight for first in my league and Holtby is gonna cost me the championship if I don't act now (team in sig.)

What do you guys think I should do? I have enough moves remaining to drop him outright and stream goalies for the rest of the season. Only issue is that my competitor whom I'm competing against needs a goalie and might actually pick him up. If he does and Holtby turns it around, this might backfire on me big time.

What do you guys think, REP as usual.

    Thanks guys!

Wouldn't having your competition pick him up while he continues to be a flaming tire fire be the best thing you could hope for?

There are guys like Jarry, Talbot, Halak available right now. But what I’m really thinking of doing is to stream based on matchups.

Good point, unless Holtby finds a way to turn things around.

If you want to bet that he will turn it around you keep him. If you think he is going to continue to be a tire fire you cut him loose. The phrase, "you can't be half pregnant comes to mind".

Keep : Tire fire = BAD
Keep : gets better = GOOD
Drop : tire fire + picked up by competition = EXCELLENT
Drop : gets better + picked up by competition = VERY BAD

All Holtby needs is for the defense to not suck horribly. However, that's been too much to ask lately. I probably wouldn't drop him. I'd be more likely to drop a skater for now and use that spot as a streamer. He actually has a very good quality start percentage, it's just that the bad starts are awful.

I'm dealing with a similar issue in that I can bench him for Andersen, but I need to set my roster up to do that (I need more Toronto defenders), and I only have room for a few players.

Why is Grubauer doing ok though? Seems like Holtby's night is based on the first shot of the game. I think he has let in the first shot 3 or 4 times in 2018!

Holt by isn't doing any favours for the second team in my signature, that's for sure. But instead of dropping him, I placed Raanta on IR and will stream goalies or ride a hot hand (if they get hot). Luongo will have to do for now.

With Grubauer's play, I think Holby will still be playing back up for a little bit. If Holtby puts in a good start against the Isles this week he may start the process of getting his crease back, otherwise, it might drag on for who knows how long. Hard to ignore the fact that Washington is winning their games lately with Grubauer, even against the tougher teams.

I think the Caps would prefer to go with Holtby in the playoffs (the Holtby from previous years) so they'll give him every chance to regain his form ROS.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
