Guy in the other semis matchup picked up and started Raanta last night. Ballsy.

    Yikes - slim pickings.

I go with the goalies who are facing the weakest teams. My choices in order:

    1) Ward vs. ARZ (likely) - if Raanta is not the goalie
    2) Lyon vs. NYR (projected)
    3) Berube vs. VAN (projected)
    4) Markstrom @ CHI (projected)
    5) Howard vs. WSH (projected)
    6) Subban @ SJ (confirmed)

I expect he does. My guess is that Rinne goes Saturday and unless he gets a shutout or 1 GAA, then Saros goes Sunday.

I did the same thing when Bishop went down so I have had two great Raanta starts this week. Not sure I am going to keep pushing my luck.

Based on recent form I decided to go with the kid Lyon.

Thinking about Lyon myself, but Grubauer is also confirmed to start @DET tonight. Maybe I should grab both?

I think Grub is a good play. I've got Luongo starting against CBJ but am wondering if I should go with Grub instead!

Well that worked out. 2 starts, 2 shutouts. Think I have the goalie stats locked up this week!

Great call by you. I started Lu where goalies don't really matter because I assume CBJ's streak will end shortly.

In my other league.....with Vas up 2-0 early.....I made the call to bench Talbot. I just had a bad feeling with Ottawa getting crushed the other day on the day the Karlsson news broke...that they would bounce back last night at home. It's not like Edmonton has had a sustained streak like this all year.....well that backfired.

Thankfully my opponent had Rinne and Varlamov.

Tough call tonight. I'm in the semi-finals, and I currently lead a fierce goalie matchup by a slight margin:

    W 5-3
    GAA 1.39 - 1.50
    SV% .947 - .957
    SO 1 - 1

Possible starters tonight are Allen vs Canucks, Murray vs Devils and Gibson vs Jets. Gibson and Murray are the better goalies, Allen faces the weaker team. Who would you pick and/or sit? (My opponent has Helle vs Anaheim tonight).

Damn that's really tough. I'd consider sitting all three and hope that Anaheim can score some goals tonight. Will splitting the goalie categories benefit you at all (as is now) or do you need to win the majority of goalie categories to win the matchup? If I had to start goalies on your team these are my rankings...
    Allen vs. VAN
    Murray vs. PIT
and I'm not starting any goalie against the Jets these days. Too risky. Good luck.

That would be my ranking as well. At this moment the standing is 5-7 so I need to improve at least two cats. Allen should get the W, but I'm not certain he offers any help with goalie peripherals. Guess I could sit them all, and play Gibson vs Oilers or Jones vs Calgary later this week if I have to.

Linus Ullmark vs. Montreal - The spot starts of all spot starts (for me).

I just used my final move for the week in 2 of my leagues on Linus Ullmark and everything (could be) riding on his performance tonight. In the first league it is the championship matchup (vs. our friend Eskimo Brother) and the only chance I have at winning is if I can win all the goaltending categories (currently losing all 3) and I still need a bit of help in the skater categories but I have a strong team so I needed to use my final add on a goalie. This one is a very long shot but I pretty much need a shutout tonight and everything else to go right for me in goaltending the rest of the weekend. I have less than 5% of hope in a comeback but hey, that's what Hail Mary's are for.

In my second matchup it is for 3rd place and it is similar to my championship matchup. It is likely to be decided by goaltending which I currently lead all categories but barely. Need a solid performance from Ullmark tonight and it wouldn't hurt if Buffalo used him back-to-back. I've never had so much riding on a single goalie start. Pretty exciting for us fantasy connoisseurs.
