    Default Goalies spot starts thread

I was thinking we could have a thread where we can suggest goalies spot starts during the fantasy playoffs. Although I'm not in a H2H league myself, the odd quality goalie spot start would still give me some valuable points. We could keep this thread alive during the fantasy playoffs.

For tonight I like these 2:

Tristan Jarry (PIT): Playing at home vs CGY
Jacob Markstrom (VAN): Playing at home vs NYI
    Yahoo! 1 year league, 9 teams, Points only [G (3pts), A (2pts), PPP (1pt), Hits (0.1pt) *** W (4pts), Goals Against (-2pts), SV (0.2pt), SO (3pms)
    C: McDavid, Couturier, Kopitar, D.Strome
    LW: Guentzel, Connor, Miller, Kaprizov
    RW: Stamkos, Stone, Teravainen, Tatar
    D: Dahlin, Theodore, Andersson, Dumba
    G: Shersterkin, Talbot

I like this idea a lot. Perhaps we could expand a little on the reasons why to help with any dilemmas.

for example i was torn between Jarry or Raanta until I discovered that The Coyotes are 13-5 in the last 18 meetings in Edmonton, 27-10 in the last 37 meetings. And Raanta gets the nod.

I stumbled on this site which gives really solid breakdowns of match ups:

    https://sportschatplace.com/
    20 Team Dynasty League - POINTS ONLY (Champion - 2017, 2016, 2015)

    Points: A (1) G (2) Dman G (3) GWG (1)
    Goalie: W (3.5) SO (4) L (-1)
    Daily starts: 9 Fwd, 6 D, 1 Goalie

    Guentzel Tkachuk Larkin
    Couture Palmieri Zucker
    Wilson Beauvillier Labanc
    Leivo Joseph Sprong

    Barrie Morrissey Montour

Good info there, I still like Jarry in a home game though

I added DeSmith on an initial report that he was starting... Then saw an update that its actually Jarry???

Burned a precious add on that - THanks alot! lol Only 5 left now..

But yeah.. the Jarry pick is good (too bad he's gone in my league).

Thoughts on Gillies? Maybe not a wise pick for tonight, but remainder of the week? Plays on alot of off days vs Sabres and Sens most notably..

Jury still out on Gillies and the flames for that matter, but they are desperate and play better on the road so a decent pick. If you can wait until after tonight, the picture will become clearer - if he gets shelled they will likely roll out Rittich - definitely in win and your in mode. If he plays decent tonight, then snap him up

Fair, I assume he;s not too widely available consider Rask's status for the past little while, but definitely would be preferred over the rest.

    Keith Kinkaid vs MTL tonight

Mason vs NYR (zibby is out tonight, desharnais is their #1C but then again it's steve mason)

Khudobin vs DET (no macavoy and bergeron could hurt though)

I think Kinkaid is the best spot start tonight.

Looks like Raanta is injured again (how many times is that this season?) Kuemper expected to start against the Canucks tomorrow.

I agree Khudobin is a solid start at home tonight vs DET

    Kinkaid has been snapped up.

    Lehtonen v Nash
    Mason v NYR
    Berube v COL
    Korpisalo v VGK
    Lindgren
    Ward

What?s the best start? Bodog giving CHI and WPG the edge. Could really use a strong win here but all I?m seeing is risk.

    Thoughts?

I'd take my chances with Mason vs NYR
