Ehlers?
Hi,
How does everyone feel about Ehlers? It seems like he has all the talent in the world, but not getting the prime opportunities in Winnipeg. Sure he gets to play with Laine (or Scheif and Wheeler sometimes), but he's never been on PP1. Seems like Maurice is content to have him there because he's so good and he wants Ehlers to be the driver of his PP2 unit.
So a few questions:
1. What do we think his realistic outlook for next year is, considering the same deployment?
2. What can we expect if he gets PP1?
3. Will he get PP1?

to me his floor is 60 and his ceiling is unknown atm...only thing i see that could go wrong is if he gets fed up with the usage...otherwise he is elite talent imo

He'll be joined at the hip with Laine for most of his career, in my opinion, and that's a good place to be. I think he's recognizing that he needs to be better defensively to take his game to the next level. He's a hard worker, and a very smart guy, so I have zero worry about him reaching his potential.

They have a lot of talent and only so much ice time. If he was on a lesser team he'd get all the prime minutes. He'll always be limited in Winnipeg. Sell high on the fact he's still young on a good team IMO.

I think he's got the highest point upside on the Jets. They may try and move him around to spread out the offense but eventually if not already his skill level will get him on the top line.
