Deal was put back in play and approved, I can admit micro managing was put in place. We formed the BOG because the trades by one team going through were so imbalanced and causing a super team (They weren't giving up much to obtain Karlsson Marchand Kane). Which ruins the league and experience for the other 14 teams. So in a sense this was the first knee jerk reaction a month into the process. Thanks for your two cents.

I think putting in processes to counter lobsided trades creating unbalanced team wealth is a good idea. In the execution of that plan lies a problem however... you remove the chance for GMs to make their own mistakes. That is where half the learning comes from. You make a trade, it bites you in the ass and then you learn from it. I think the root cause of the problem is the GM recruitment. If you have GMs that know their stuff, there is no need to police their deals.
Good decision letting that trade go through. That was a fairly good trade and no real need to review trades like that in my opinion. The last thing you want is the BOG to be perceived at obstacles to trading. This could make GMs less keen to work on a trade if they think its going to be too hard to get it approved. You are thinking about ways to make the league better and I do like that. You just have to be careful that the processes you choose, dont have unintended consequences. The cure could be worse than the disease so to speak.

He didn't get the reception he wanted, so he and the "board of governors" will now retreat back into their league and talk about how everyone on the dobber forum hit the tantrum button. Nothing is going to change in that league - you can tell by the words he used to describe the manager who dared disagreed with him.
Wouldn't be surprised in the least if your league has high manager turnover.

Unless there is clear cheating involved a trade should NEVER be vetoed. Even if I wasn't a trade partner in this deal and it got vetoed I'd be outa the league so fast. Not worth my time having other GMs micro manage my team.

I agreed with this 99%. If I am investing time and energy to a team/league and I am then told that my trade is not accepted I would walk away. The 1% time that a trade should be vetoed is if an experienced cutthroat GM takes advantage of a rookie GM before the nubie has their feet wet. This protects both the new franchise and the league. The 'experienced GM' knows exactly what they are doing and shouldn't be doing it anyway! LOL
