Give me tolvanen over every non NHL guy except ... Kaprizov
I see Strome listed at the top of dobbers rankings, but some people don't seem so convinced he'll be an effective NHLer. So just looking for more opinions.
So which do you take, in multi cat?
Is Strome still the safer bet?

I think Arizona is actually doing it right with DStrome by letting him develop in the AHL. Not only is he developing, he's literally dominating the AHL, which is great news for Arizona as well as fantasy owners who are being patient with him. I know many have given up on Strome early and I do think people will look back and kick themselves once he does get this full-time gig.
As far as Tolvanen goes, I think he's going to be a very good NHL player as well. He may get there before Strome but that doesn't mean he will be the better option, long-term.
When you say your league is multi-cat, what do you mean? Is there FOW in there? If so Strome could have an advantage over Tolvanen in that category. Is SOG a category? If so, Tolvanen could have an advantage. I guess I am asking what exactly are the categories in your league setup?

Strome's getting called a bust by a lot of people because of comparisons. Marner, Provorov, Hanifin, Werenski etc. Everyone drafted around him is playing really well in the NHL and most did so draft year +1. So in draft yr +3 now, there's concern. With his high level production in the AHL this year, his 1st pro season, I'm not that concerned he's going to become an impact player. Will he become a 80+pt player? perhaps not but a 65+pt C.. that can give 30+g seasons, yes I believe he can. Strome is a shooter as well. Tolvanen is more of a volume shooter than Strome.
I think they'll be close in 3yrs from now & if you don't count FOW cats, then I give a positional edge to Tolvanen.

Strome over tolvanen. Tolvanen has slowed down, strome is ripping up the AHL.
Nothing here suggesting tolvanen has passed strome in my books.
I wouldn?t blame someone for making a trade, this would come to preference for some people.
