    Default S. Aho Trade

Been offered a 3rd pick for Aho would be probably 125 draft spot.

I'm in first (by 24 points - a nice little lead) with this week and next to go for regular season. Aho would not be kept so I could get value for a player I won't be keeping.

Reg season trophy has the biggest payout - playoffs are always a crap shoot.

I'd also get Tanner Pearson.... (I'm not too excited by that but it'd be a warm body for the bench)

    Thoughts?

I wouldn't have done that deal. Aho has been real good this year

Yes, I'm aware Aho has been great this year! Bummed I had to move him, but getting assets in return for players i cannot keep is a risk I'm taking here. A 2nd pick for Aho is a great add for next year I think likely a 15-17th pick. My math tells me I only need 33% of the remaining points available to lock first down and Aho only has 6 games left for my regular season.

Next question is. Do I drop Pearson and add Dadonov who is on the wire? Guy is scoring at .74 ppg pace for the year and has decent pp usage - maybe this makes up a bit for the Aho loss? Or with Carter coming back soon do I hold Pearson for the peripheral bonus and Carter roster addition?

I can only keep 10 and Aho was mainly competing with Panarin for the spot... I think Panarin has a better opportunity/higher ceiling in his role currently and has similar stat lines.

Above Aho I had: Stamkos; Kopitar; R. O'Reilly; Boeser; B. Schenn; Andersen; Holtby; Panarin; OEL and Weber/Getzlaf

Thinking Getzlaf may be the final guy left out of a keeper slot as he carries the least trade value currently and his totals are hidden by low games played. With the multi-cat I really put a preference on players that can fill both the scoring categories and peripheral stats in H2H and both Panarin and Boeser fill mainly scoring cats only while the rest can score and fill peripherals too - thus, Aho was another odd man out w/ Panarin and Boeser being worth more.

Dadonov is statistically not far behind Aho has just played in fewer games so Aho's stats coukd almost be replaced on the wire... Although I think Aho is obviously the better own
