TRADE: The Flyers have acquired goalie Petr Mrazek from the Red Wings for a conditional fourth round draft pick in 2018 and a conditional third round pick in 2019.

Red Wings retaining half the salary in the Mrazek trade with Philly.

Dan Rosen and Craig Custance via twitter, because apparently that's a thing now

For conditional picks, I am alright with that. Depending what the conditions are of course.

Hopefilly Mrazek can keep what the flyers have going, going.

    What are these conditions??

I am shocked that's the going price right now for a goalie. Seems so cheap and to add red wings dump half salary. Almost seems like red wings were paying someone to take him off there hands. What am I missing about him?

This is the real world value, as this is the going rate for "backup" goalies. Too many unknowns and too much at stake to risk much more.

Although we all know he will be given a long leash the next time Neuvirth falters. Good move! And cannot wait to see more of Jared Coreau in the future.

I like the move for Philly and for the Wings as well.
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

conditions if mrazek wins 5 regular season games and and the Flyers make playoffs the 4th becomes a third. This pick can become a 2nd if mrazek wins 6 playoff games and the Flyers make the conference finals.

The 2019 third round pick is conditional to the red wings. If the Flyers sign mrazek in the off-season

Nice move by Philly. Allows Lyon to develop in the AHL as the starter a little longer.

Anyone who was holding onto both Howard and Mrazek has gotta be pretty happy about this.

I whiffed on goaltending in my newest dynasty league so I paid alot for mrazek in hopes that he'd rebound .

He's found himself a nice stage to show everybody what he's got down the stretch here .Elliott&Neuvirth both have 1 year left on their deals so it'll be interesting to see what they do in the offseason considering mrazek would need a qualifying offer in the 4+ mil range .

Philly is a desireable market to play in so maybe mrazek takes less to resign with them

I hope it works out for Philly because that means it will work out for Detroit but I am still not sold on Mrazek. People are all excited for Mrazek going there but I am keeping my expectations in check on him. He's going to a better team, but it's still Mrazek.

How many times has a backup switched teams and it fails? A lot more than it's successful.

Philly has been searching for a goalie for a while, but I don't think the short term answer is a Mrazek.
