I'm thinking about picking him up off the waiver wire in my pool. I know he won't be over until 2020 and he'd have to sit on my main roster but I think I would be smart to get him now. I am a bottom team so I'm not overly worried about him sitting on my squad not collecting points. Too good to risk moving up in a year or two and miss out on. Thoughts?

Yes, one of the best prospects in the world right now. If you can wait two years, definitely add him.

Absolutely. Good opportunity here to build for the future. Snap him up.

Just curious but what do you think his numbers could be like if and when he comes over? 70 point player or more like 60-65 tops?

Lets put it this way, he has 4 points in 3 games so far at the Olympics. 40 pts in 46 games so far in the KHL. The dude is still 20 years old. I think 70 is very realistic and the ceiling could be even higher.

I'd put him around 55 pts in his rookie season but in his peak years I'd say he is a 65-70 pt player. I just picked him up in my pts keeper, I originally thought he was already owned ... then I found out he was in free agents. Jumped all over that!

I can see him scoring 70+ points eventually. Maybe not in his rookie season but at some point. Very talented and dynamic offensive player.

i have been wondering about him as well. looking at the prospects in my signature..would any of them be worth dropping to add Kaprizov? some of my prospects are a couple years away from the NHL anyway.

Is there any way he can decide to come to the NHL next season?

I'm no expert but I was once offered Sprong but turned it down because I've heard he's got an attitude. Not like a Ho-Sang type, where he's confident in himself and comes off cocky, but almost entitled. If it were me, I'd drop him for Kaprizov but that's me. I'm not very familiar with him except for.what I've read.

No. He would have to buy out his KHL contract which would be way too expensive. Summer of 2020, that's when he's coming over.
