    What do you think?

William Karlsson, Anton Forsberg, 2nd round pick FOR Mike Smith, 9th round pick...

Cam Ward, Scott Darling, 6th FOR Rittich, 2nd...

I'll update sig later. 16 teams. keep 10. start 2 goalies a day. a few bench spots.

Its a hail mary for Ritich- I like it though- if you do daily starts itd be even more tempting for owner B.

For Smith? Im on the fence. I just acquired Smith (and I love the value he brings). Im just worried because we dont know what Karlsson is yet- lol! Yes his shooting percentage is through the roof- but even if he levels out and drops 10 goals off his pace (which is massive)- youre still looking at a 25ish goal, 60ish point threat- which is a pretty nice breakout for a 25 year old! In the end I dont hate it- Smith providing top 5-10 numbers right now and Im hoping he can sneak in one more elite season next year.

Bottom line: if he ends up missing relatively few games- you win. If they accept the Rittich offer you win because you handcuffed the better team anyways. I think it was a reasonable roll of the dice and have my fingers crossed that you can land the second part of the deal (which I think was very clever by the way- and is going to be something he has to at least strongly consider).

I don't like giving up Karlsson there.

I like acquiring Rittich, but not at the cost of an actual NHL goalie tandem, even one as bad as Carolina's.

Thanks for replying Fighting_Emu and stevegamer. Can you believe he rejected both rittich offers? If Smith misses 2 games, Rittich is probably worthless after 2 day voting period anyway.

Its probably the 2nd doing it. Hes gambling Smityh is out for awhile. If you want to hedge your bets before the shoe drops (aka hes probably going to have a deathgrip on him if Smith DOES miss time- lol!) Make the offer without picks or with a reduced pick...

I think my keepers will be alright without karlsson. something like:

    Crosby
    Marchand
    Laine
    Eichel
    Pastrnak
    Byfuglien
    Letang
    Edler
    Talbot
    Smith

You cant say he doesnt fit if you havent seen the rest of my team lol. I know Edler is not a huge offensive guy but if im reading this correctly yahoo says hes a top 40 skater in our league. maybe thats mostly blocks and shit. maybe i should only focus on goals/assists and forget other categories? its my first time playing in a league with hits/blocks. 2nd year of league but first year i wasnt as active.

Edler has solid value in a league with hits and blocks. He is a little long in the tooth, but I own him in one league that counts hits and blocks and he is earning me some good points.

What are your categories? And assuming its heavily points based- then sure lets hear your other options because top 40 in D is not a fantastic keeper option especially considering he has demonstrably shown zero effective upside from the 30ish points youre counting on him for. If you count blocks that changes things (obvy).

Yea thats what I meant about the debate earlier- someone said hes elite in those categories. Im going to admit I dont play in any league that counts either so I might have spoken out of turn so to speak. My gripe with Edler is upside- there is none. Hes been in positions where hes been on some of the most effective special teams in the league and spoonfed powerplay time and the absolute ceiling you can reasonably hope for is 30 points. Is that servicable? Yea in a lot of leagues it is. Is it se4rvicable with hits and blocks? Well yea I can see the argument taking shape- hes not hurting you point-wise and stuffing some harder to fill stats, so i get it. That being said a veteran Dman with a 30 point ceiling is nothing to write home about in most standard formats. I feel like that rating he gets from blocks and hits skews how people view him in leagues that dont cvount those.

Nice. I think Edler isn't really a keeper for you, because he should be way easier to redraft than some of the other guys on your roster.
