Not even close. Gudas was way PIMer at his prime and hit way more too.
This guy seems to start to become a multicat beast. 15 points, 53 PIM, 104 SOG, 90 Hits, 123 blocks. I dropped him last year and starting to have regrets. Is he the new gudas though?

I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Edmundson hasn't been suspended enough to be the new Gudas...
but I do like his multi-cat coverage!
In the league in my sig he comes out as a high-end replacement level guy. Definitely works as an injury replacement, Gudas and Borowiecki (until this season) have been more reliable in the PIM/hits/blocks cats. This year though, he's ahead of them by a bit, which is a result of him just logging more minutes and being a step ahead in point production. I also think he's in a great spot to stay where he is, anchoring the defensive side with an offensive producer. Looking at it like that, I'd say he's a more reliable option, who stands to help a little in the offensive cats. It also helps that he likely doesn't stand to be too expensive in a cap league, even though he's a free agent this summer and I would expect a bit of a raise from his 1.05mil hit right now.

Edmundson is progressing nicely but he's far from anything Gudas did in terms of dominating categories.

Tom mentioned Edmundson in his Top 10 a while ago, and I was making note of him during last year's playoffs. He's no Gudas, but guys like him and Morrissey are doing a good job stat stuffing this year, along with the already known guys like Provorov, Nurse, and Petry.

Last year after some deliberation I drafted Connor Murphy instead of Edmundson. Big mistake!! This guy is extremely solid across a number of scoring cats. He doesn't dominate in any one category but in a 12 - 14 team roto league having him as your number 4, 5 or 6 D is gold. Damn!!!!

Blues D Joel Edmundson (15 points in 56 games) had surgery on his broken right forearm and will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Edmundson sustained the injury last night. Chris Butler recalled by St. Louis.
As recently as last year, Gudas had 93PIM & 280hits in only 67 games.
Joel Edmundson will be evaluated in 6 weeks after undergoing a procedure to repair a broken right forearm.
Was definitely rolling Edmundson at points over the season as he's got good SOG's with Hits/Blks and is an even player.
