    Default Projecting next year

Trying to project my Goalie situation next year. As far as who to keep/drop and who makes the cut from the minors. See attached with notes.

Mrazek, Petr - finishes year out with fledgling team. Or gets traded(doubtful). Either way, he gets a shot at starting gig next year with a year or two show me deal
Saros, Juuse -backup to Rinne yet again
Montoya, Al - waiver fodder depending on who makes cut from other prospects
Glass, Jeff - waiver fodder after this year. Keeper this year because weak at goalie
Domingue, Louis - could be backup next year, depending on Budaj situation. If not backup, waiver fodder
Husso, Ville - another year in minors
Jarry, Tristan - backup to Murray
Korpisalo, Joonas - backup to Bob
Lyon, Alex - waiver fodder. Too many other younger prospects in PHI pipeline that will surpass him. Even with another team, think he's waiver fodder

Thus, my goalie situation is a bunch of backups again next year, unless Mrazek lands the starting gig. I'm thinking 2019-20 will be the year i have bonafide NHL starters.

Saros, Mrazek and Jarry are your top 3. How many do you have to keep/drop?

I can keep as few or as many. I need to clear space for draft picks though. Saros/Husso/Jarry/Lyon will be the only minors eligible after this year(unless Saros starts 20 more games this year). Its a 3 round draft. I have two 1st, two 2nd, and four 3rd round picks. So, i need main roster spots mostly. Thus, I am leaning toward this as my keepers:

    Saros
    Mrazek
    Jarry
    Korpisalo
    Husso

It's doubtful i would get any return for the others, so they will be waiver fodder.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about dropping Domingue, Montoya or Glass.

Agree with Saros, Mrazek, and Jarry. I would also keep an eye on Husso- as Buffalo is a sucky team and may be more quick to completely replace their starter if they improve next year. In other words- things are less stable both in skaters as well as in goalies with non-playoff teams.

Buffalo won't be bringing someone young up, their goalie next year will be one of Mrzaek/Lehner/Ward/Dell.

Saros - minors eligible, but keep on main squad if there's an issue moving up/down

    Husso - minors
Jarry - minors, but may be wanted on main squad
Lyon - may be worth keeping if he plays well enough down the stretch for the Flyers, since he's minors eligible. Also if he does that, he might be somebody who helps as an add-on player.

Mrazek is an RFA. If they can't move Howard (very possible), then Mrazek would likely be shopped.
Remember, they left Mrazek exposed to Vegas. They're not opposed to parting ways.

I would be inclined to keep Saros Mrzak and maybe Jarry.. The rest are just taking up spots on your roster..

This is what Bob MacKenzie said about the Sabres goaltending situation at the trade deadline:

Keep an eye on the Buffalo Sabres goaltending situation; Chad Johnson is a pending UFA, he could be available, and right now Buffalo is not committed long term to Robin Lehner, he’s a restricted free agent at the end of the year but he’s one year away from unrestricted free agency. The Sabres could hold onto him and not qualify him and just let him walk to free agency and let Linus Ullmark take over as their number one, or they could conceivably sign him to a short-term deal to complement with Ullmark, their goaltender of the future in Buffalo, or they could just let him go themselves and let him go to free agency in the off-season. So keep an eye on the Buffalo goaltending situation the rest of the way."

If Buffalo's goalie of the future is Ullmark then they are in deep trouble, IMO

As for the OP...you are keeping the right guys. The four you are cutting will not be missed.
