If it is time for Rangers to rebuild then move makes some sense, gives Lundy an oppotunity to go to a contending team.
Sure, the Rags don't play D in front of him but they are years away from being competitive again with no young help on the horizon. Does asking The King to waive his no-trade to St. Louis for their wealth of young players...rebuild the D starting with Schmaltz....make sense?

It doesn't, just because of contracts, and the fact that the Rangers have no one to take over for the next 2-3 years until a young goalie is ready to fill the void.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Hutton has been lights out and Allen can only play better, plus they just got Schwartz back which will be a major boost.
When the Blues inevitably make a move it will be for a top 6 forward. I think they still need a top C to be a serious cup threat but with the abundance of W available this deadline that might be the more likely route.
I don't see the rangers trading Lundqvist either. He's too important to them on and off the ice, they'd never get anything good enough in return to justify trading him.
I do not think this makes sense at all for either team.
No, becuase I don't really the the Blues needing a goalie.
I think they could deal him offseason if they can get a replacement in free agency or via trade, not necessarily in the same trade.

Also, last time the Blues tried to make a trade for an elite goalie on the downswing it hurt the team more than it helped (Miller).

It’s a shame to watch him wasting away on that team as currently constituted.
