    Default Blues pursuing Price?

Saw a bit of this on twitter this morning. Article below I found online. Don't know how true this is.

According to a radio report in Montreal. the Blues made an offer for Carey Price and the Canadiens countered with a steep demand for Carter Hutton, Robert Thomas, and draft compensation. As great as Price is, he gets hurt ? a lot. If he's truly available, is that a deal the Blues should make?

if true that's a horrible return for the habs. Would have to be Allen plus plus for Price with the pluses being NHL ready youth or high end prospects

Crap, I hope not. For the Habs' sake (and the Jets') I hope this never happens.

I heard it was Allen + Thomas + 1st for Price.

Pretty sure it's a fake rumor though. Blues don't need goaltending, they need a legit #1C. But Price behind that defense would be vezina calibre.

I think Schenn is doing just fine in that spot!

Price, as bad of a season that he's having, is still the guy that should be taken 10/10 times over Allen. It's that contract that makes it tough to move Thomas and 1st.. those ELCs become so much more important when you have a guy eating 10+m of the cap.

Price still has some good years left, and the Habs this yr just poo on D, Blues make out on this unless some serious youth goes to Montreal

Blues would regret this deal big time.. Price is owed a boat load of cash.. Price is one of the best goalies when healthy, which isn't alot of late.. With Allen/Hutton, the Blues are better off using that cash elsewhere!!

    I don't believe this "rumour:....

And it would have to be Allen otherwise STL couldn't afford the cap hit. They'd have 15m in goalies next year...

Friedman had said that everyone but Price and Mete were available. Montreal is this bad with arguably the top goaltender... so without any defensemen coming back... this would be a horrible move.

The blues would be nuts to take on that contract

Blues don't have their first rounder, so it would be the 2019 pick if that was the trade.

I think he'd be happy to play for a true Cup contender like the Blues instead of staying in Montreal where that team is going nowhere. But I have no idea if there's any truth to all this, just saying Price probably wouldn't block the Blues.
