For me, the greatest album ever recorded is Day For Night by The Tragically Hip. I was lucky enough to have bought an original pressing of it on vinyl about 15 years ago for $20. Original pressing are now going from anywhere between $200-$450 online but I doubt I'll ever sell it.

I don't even know if this qualifies as an album... but I absolutely love

An American Prayer - Jim Morrison

If I recall this correctly, the band bought him studio time as a birthday present, he went in and recorded poetry. The band later on added the music - I believe after his death.

Don't know what it is about it..but I can listen to that for ever.

Yes there are so many front to back, BUT ... For Vinyl it has to be .... especially with being stated on the cover "to be played a maximum volume":

Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
    Soo much energy!

    Rush - 2112 - revolutionary

I will stop there because I would have to go to Live albums.

Good pick on the April Wine - forgot about them

More than three but these were all cassettes (I am that old) or CDs that I wore out or scratched to death.

Guns N'Roses - Appetite for Destruction (for that matter, both "Illusion" albums are great too.)
Metallica - Metallica (the one with the black cover)
    Aerosmith - Pump
    Pearl Jam - Ten
    M?tley Cr?e - Dr. Feelgood
