Players with a better average than Granderson last yr:
    Everyone but Bautista (0.203)
Granderson's career batting average is roughly 0.252. He obviously hit well below that last season but again, it's not like they are heavily invested in him for any term. He's a cheap bat who can hopefully offer some insurance with some pop to boot.

Not sure how a one year deal for low dollars can be worrisome to anyone. His contract isn't going to force him into games, so any at bats he gets will need to be earned. Worst case scenario, he's AAA Buffalo's best bat.

Granderson’s averages over the last 5 yrs:
    Games-134/yr
    Runs-72.8
    hits-110.2
    Doubles-24.2
    Triples-2.8
    HR-21.8
    SB-7.4
    Caught-2.8
    BB-68.4
    SO-122.8
    Avg-0.234
    OBP-0.336
    OPS-0.773

People keep seeing his best yrs, and think that’s him. He’s a 0.230avg/0.780OPS. AKA, pure power bat, he’s not offering much else. I’m not pissed at the signing, I’m more upset at people thinking it’s a good signing. No, it’s a signing. That’s it. It's to "trick" the fans they still are in it this yr.

I don't think it's a great signing, but at least it offers something this team doesn't have, and hasn't had in a while, and that's depth in the outfield. I am not doing cartwheels and think that he's the missing piece or anything. For me, the price was right so I think it can be a good signing if he still has some smash in his bat.

At least if he has a good year they could trade him? I suppose it is a "free" asset.
