Subban vs. Chicago

On the back end of back to backs. My G cat's as listed below consist of GAA, W's and Sv%. Tight race in all three cat's but seems the most damage can be sustained by the peripherals much more so than the W's. Anyone wanna take a stab at how this one plays out tonight? They say the peripherals are normally what wins it for you and I'm a believer of that. Sit or start?

Chicago played very well against NYR and it would have been a rout if Hank didn't make some great saves. But I also know that the Hawks have traditionally played poorly their first game back after a long road trip. Granted, this trip was split up by Christmas and this is the first time in a number of years that the Hawks are fighting for a playoff spot. I think I would sit Subban if was worried about SV% and GAA.

Yep. GAA and Sv% could be an issue if he gets lit up. I can only drop a half point (tonight anyway) if I lose out on the win. I can drop 5 if Subban gets ripped out the net by the 2nd period... The risk versus reward doesn't add up.

I haven't been in a roto league in years, but doesn't it seem a little early to bench your goalies based on matchups?

Chicago doesn't have the feel of an offensive powerhouse that I would avoid. You likely won't shut them out, but their PP is pretty bad, making it seem unlikely that they could run up the score on you.

It's a tough one. Start him and it goes bad, and it's agony. Sit him and goes well, and it's agony...I'm a believer in Subban, as he sits on my roster... but I'm not sure he's really had a test like this yet.

Hawks seem to be rounding out their game lately. Plus they're at home and the Knights are on the tail end of back2backs. He's played good teams yes, but some of those rosters at the time weren't 100%. This I feel will be a true test right now.

The good thing the Knights have going for them other than being awesome so far this year, is their youth. So back2backs shouldn't be a huge problem for them considering their average age and the unrelenting style of play they put out, but I just sense a disturbance in the force with this one lol.

I sit in a 4 way Wins race, but I also sit at .915 Sv% with three guys behind me at .914, .914 and .913. GAA I'm bad in due to Price and Andersens bed shits in October, but it has been climbing steadily since. A bad game could drop me at least 3 points in the standings. Oh the anxiety!

Anyone else care to weigh in? Really appreciate all the replies from you guys and hoping for more.

Bad games are going to happen, as you pointed out with Price and Andersen. If you have the guy on your roster, I'm a believer that you should play him. If you're not confident in it, then trade him away.

Absolutely. I agree 100 percent. I guess the question is, are you a believer in playing match ups?

While this contradicts what I posted above, I agree with this. I made the decision a long time ago with pitchers in baseball, always start the player when undecided. It will benefit you more in the long run but you have to always play him. Obviously, some times you protect a lead but when in doubt, always play him.

Scary but happier with it in my lineup than the bench for sure. I thought it was gonna go bad. Friggin Vegas! They don't stop! Fun team to watch
