I will watch them occasionally, and will usually select a documentary about the Earth, a celebrity or, if this counts, some strange paranormal, supernatural, or unusual event.

Nice! I'll check this one out for sure.

For any history or war buff I have to recommend the classic 'World at War' from the 1970s. 26 episodes of World War 2 history narrated by Laurence Olivier. It stands the test of time and should be considered required viewing.

World at War is incredible. Listening to the perfect English spoken by Olivier is reason enough to watch. The fact that they were able to do live interviews with many of the key players while they were still alive makes it a true learning experience.

Documentaries most certainly do not make you smarter. You might be a better team mate at the local pub quiz night however.

Documentaries are great entertainment. I usually watch a doco if I dont want to watch a full movie.

I watch most war documentaries. Loved the How it's Made and Modern Marvels on the History Channel. How the Earth was Made is my all time favorite documentary.
Hmm, I will have to check these ones out. I love that crap. I doubt I will watch He-man or Barbie either. I was never much of a He-man kinda guy but Star Wars and GI Joe for sure!
