How fast can you type?

I just did a few different test and most of which been about 65-80 words per minute. I find this site fun for speed tests. How well do you guys do?

It's funny. Back when I was in high school (I graduated in 1988), I took typing for two years as bird courses for the credits. Little did I know years later that computers would be as important as they are and the importance of typing on a day to day level.

I took the test and got 63WPM my first try and made five mistakes but one of those stupid mistakes was missing the space bar LOL!

I was the teachers pet in grade 9 typing class - not a good thing when 90% of the class was girls . I think I accomplished 44 wpm on the old style typewriters back in the day

That is the type of typewriters we were using back then too. The old clickity click typewriters. Our teacher was an old school bat who'd walk around with a wooden ruler and she'd whack your hands if she came up behind you and saw you looking down at your fingers while you typed. True story.

Kind fun. 70 words/minute first thing in the morning. By the end of a day of work, I'm guessing I can bump that up a few.

Sounds familiar. I imagine typing on those things had to be a little slower then on today's keyboards. You needed strong fingers back then. Loved when the school got electric typewriters. Lol.

have done multiple tests... always around 65wpm.. once I get above 70, my errors exponentially increase

(looking back on High School - the two optional classes I took and believe were incredibly helpful for my future: typing & AutoCad. A funny short story that tells my age, my typing class was the last at my high school to include "typewriters", half the class did typewriter and half did computer, each for half the semester.)

It would be easier to write actual sentences instead of just random words.

My score was pretty shitty (55 wpm) considering all of the typing I've had to do over the years. I never learned to do it properly and my hands slide around on the keyboard. Not so good for typing words but I think it does really well in programming. Coding is a lot different.

Just tried this got 385 CPM (that is 77 WPM)
