Not a specific time of the year but I used to watch The Princess Bride when the kids got sick.
Growing up it was always The Great Pumpkin at Halloween and we never missed The Grinch (original cartoon) at Christmas time.
Well this was inspired by my wife bringing out the Christmas movies that we HAVE to watch every Christmas season.
So I was wondering what traditions do you have as a movie watcher and what movies do you HAVE to watch at a certain time of year.
Mine:
Christmas - Home Alone 1, Home Alone 2
NFL Draft - Draft Day
September - Mighty Ducks, D2, D3 (If I can find time) Youngblood - all to get me in the mood for the NHL season.

I watch Alive every summer when it's 95 degrees outside.

Possibly a new tradition at Christmas - starting last year - is watching Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale. It's from Finland, with horror elements and dark humour. Well worth a watch.
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Always
Mean Girls on October 3rd.

The first major snowfall, I always try to watch A Simple Plan. Superb movie for those who've never seen it, even more so now that it can remind us what a great actor Bill Paxton was.
Also, if I have a really bad session at a casino I'll usually fire up Owning Mahowny to remind myself that it's not as bad as it seems.

Die Hard around every Christmas, Gremlins as well usually.
Also, the local old theatre shows Rocky Horror Picture Show every Halloween and I try to attend annually.
Around Christmas we (wife and I) like to watch Trading Places, Four Christmases, and Home Alone I and II. I also like to watch Joyeux Noel (takes place in WWI in the trenches around xmas, great movie) and Band of Brothers although not technically a movie (mostly because I have the time to get through a few episodes at a time).
Around Hallowe'en I watch as many horror movies as I can (I watch them all year but more come on via cable around Oct 31).
In the spring I love to watch Bull Durham and Field of Dreams.
