With how many hits/blocks Provorov provides, I would make the deal even if it's just for this year. However he may even be enough of a bargain to be your D keeper down the line.
Hi All,
I'm in a salary cap keeper league and was just offered Provorov for Ehlers. Should I accept this trade?
League is points G (1 pt), A (1 pt), Hits (0.2 pt) & Blocks (0.2 pt). We're allowed 7 keepers per year and must keep at least 1 F, 1 D and 1 G in those 7. This is what my team currently looks like.
F - Crosby, Wheeler, Getzlaf, Hornqvist, Benn, Scheifele, Lee, Zuccarello, Ehlers, Pageau, Domi, Silfverberg, Sheary, Point
D - Ristolainen, Ekman-Larsson, Gudas, Borowiecki, Klingberg, Manson, Faulk, Beauchemin
G - Murray, Andersen, Rask
IR - Byfuglien, Ritchie
Once they come off IR I will drop Sheary for Ritchie and Beauchemin for Byfuglien. With the trade I would also need to drop a D for a F as I will have too many.
Should I make this deal? I would lean towards dropping Manson and picking up a player like Namestnikov or Tom Wilson as my F. So essentially the trade is Ehlers + Manson for Provorov & Namestnikov. This would leave me with 2.75M in cap space.
Appreciate the help!
6-team, 25-man keeper league. 125M Cap. Any waiver transaction costs 10% of the player's salary you drop.
G (1pt), A (1pt), Hits (0.2 pt), Blocks (0.2 pt), Goalie W (2 pts), Goalie SO (3 pts)
14 Forwards, 8 D-men, 3 Goalies
Keepers
F - Rantanen (Assuming 9-9.5M), Aho (8.454M), Radulov (6.25M), Huberdeau (5.9M), Barkov (5.9M)
D - Weber (7.9M), Letang (7.25M)
G - Bishop (4.917M)
With how many hits/blocks Provorov provides, I would make the deal even if it's just for this year. However he may even be enough of a bargain to be your D keeper down the line.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Not in a hits league, but IMO I would be hard pressed to give up Ehlers.
