Okay did you guys see Butcher's play tonight to set up Boyle? Little bit of luck involved but wow. Are people still not buying into him? I'm so stoked I drafted this guy.

the problem is he is still just a power play specialist for the most part. the devils tend to rotate guys in bunches through the power play on defense that is. look to the last few seasons. Larsson showed promise but then was moved off the PP and then shipped out of town. last year we saw severson and others go through that cycle. dont get me wrong as a devil fan and watching games yes this kid, butcher, has some insane skills. he is really good at finding the pass and connecting. lets just hope he can develop to a top line dman not just a power play guy.

Well I sat back and waited long enough. He has just been sitting on the WW board all season. His ATOI is scaring away people in my league but I'm leading the league in that category so what the hell. May not play out but he joins my team being tied for assists with Karlsson and with more PPP than anyone listed below. Might as well right?

5g 39a for 44pts and two games to go.

Kid is exceeding expectations and looks to be the real deal.
12th all time in rookie Dman assists and could crack the top 10 with two more in his last two games.

I'm a Butcher believer. I don't think he has McAvoy's offensive upside, but not far off.

there is is always the dreaded softmore slump, but is it safe to assume 45-50 pts (or more) out of Butcher for next year? When I look at his SOGs (88), it is the lowest by any D within the top 40 for points, so I don’t expect more than 5-7 goals, unless he shots more. I believe he has secured the 1st PP D position from

Butcher has been productive mainly because of his PP points. He has the vision to be a nice PP QB but I dont know if he's locked for #1 role forever. I feel the sophomore slump could hit him hard but more than that, I feel like the stars aligned last season and, in my honest opinion, he's capped at 50pts and I would envision 38-45pts from him in the future.
