I doubt the penny-pinching franchise pays two head coaches. At least not anytime soon.

Joel Quennville - mediocrity will not be tolerated. Perhaps a new voice in the room is what the doctor ordered?

Nah - Hawks management is smart enough to realize their core (particularly the D) is ageing out of their prime. And the starting goalie is on the IR. That kept Therrien from being fired for an entire season. I think if Q goes it’d be between seasons on his terms. He’s a class act and that’s a class organization.

Quenville is an interesting name. Hasn't he had a relatively contentious relationship with management? My understanding is that they don't see eye to eye, but he's done such a great job that they were smart enough not to move on from him.

However, once things start to slow down, they may be more than happy to move on. Although I do agree with the above that it is not his fault, I could still see this happening.

If Quenneville goes I see it being a "mutual parting of ways" after the season

They’ve done that in the past. Sens ownership is changing very soon as well

IF Boucher was ever fired, Crawford would replace him

yeah.. that's the way I remember it as well. that usually spells a nearing end for a coach. He won't be unemployed for very long whenever it happens

Still no coach fired this season? Hard to believe...

Has there ever been a season where there hasn't been at least one coach fired by the All-Star Break?

The question at this point should be, will a GM or a coach be the first to be fired? Lots of people blaming the GM in different cities for poor seasons, instead of the coach. I could see a GM being fired before the end of the season, and I'll stick with my prediction that no coach will be fired during the season.
