Welcome to the Dobber Entry Norris!

This thread is created to enable managers (and even some non-managers) to chat about the league in general, the draft, teams and even smack talk.

The one request is that any league questions/issues remain on the league board.

    A reminder of the settings:

    Norris is underway.
    10/12 GMs live drafting.
    #5 Brosive & #6 IfT are absent.
Poor Terrebonne has had his internet allow him in, then cut moments later... at least 30 times (not kidding) through first 4 rounds.

Damn, was looking forward to this draft but something came up last minute.
Entire team was autodrafted with no rankings on my part.
Definitely would not have taken Matthews at #6 (how is he even that high in the auto-rankings?)
Forwards are looking nice, but no chance I can compete with my goalie group.

    C - Matthews
    C - Getzlaf
    C - Monahan
    C - Little
    LW - Marchand
    LW - Pacioretty
    LW - Parise

    RW - Draisaitl
    RW - Marner
    RW - Reinhart
    RW - Larkin
    D - Pietrangelo
    D - Schultz
    D - McDonagh
    D - Brodie
    D - Ellis
    D - Morrissey
    G - Schneider
    G - Halak/Mrazek

That was my first roto draft. I usually only play in points-only leagues. That should be a fun experience.

I found that drafting at the bottom in a 12-team league with a timer of one minute was really annoying. You always have to make two quick picks and a long wait before your next, all the time. I prefer being in the middle in those kind of drafts.

But, all in all, I think I did alright. Anyway, it looks good to me. We'll see, I guess.

    1. (11) Vladimir Tarasenko (StL - RW)
    2. (16) Jamie Benn (Dal - LW)
    3. (37) Roman Josi (Nsh - D)
    4. (42) Ben Bishop (Dal - G)
    5. (63) Andrei Vasilevskiy (TB - G)
    6. (68) Zach Werenski (Cls - D)
    7. (89) Jonathan Toews (Chi - C)
    8. (94) Jonathan Huberdeau (Fla - LW)
    9. (115) Alex Galchenyuk (Mon - C,LW)
    10. (120) Oscar Klefbom (Edm - D)
    11. (141) Mats Zuccarello (NYR - RW)
    12. (146) Mika Zibanejad (NYR - C)
    13. (167) Brent Seabrook (Chi - D)
    14. (172) Alexander Wennberg (Cls - C)
    15. (193) J.T. Miller (NYR - LW,RW)
    16. (198) Brayden Point (TB - C,RW)
    17. (219) Dmitry Orlov (Was - D)
    18. (224) Teuvo Teravainen (Car - C,LW)
    19. (245) Radim Vrbata (Fla - RW)
    20. (250) Vladislav Namestnikov (TB - C,LW)
    21. (271) Jeff Petry (Mon - D)

    24. (302) Michael Frolik (Cgy - RW)
    25. (323) Mike Condon (Ott - G)

BTW, I have a question about the waiver claims. Are you losing your waiver priority if you win a claim but no one else tried to claim the player?

The waiver priority is only affected when multiple managers bid the same amount on the same player, thus giving the player to the manager with the better priority and then being moved to the bottom priority. Otherwise, all other moves act much like picking up someone as a free agent, with only your budget impacted (if bid more than $0).

Okay. So, you can leave it a $0 then? I suppose I don't have to click the Save Bid button if I don't change it.

Also, what does the "Outstanding Bids Waiver 2 (Sep 28): Add Player 1, Drop Player 2" section mean when I view the waiver claim details? I only made one waiver claim.

You still need to save it, but leave in $0.

Just tested it with the dummy team. Not sure why it shows a '2' next to it, when it's your first waiver. I tried two of them and the summary shows 1 and 2, but the details show 2 and 3. Probably just a glitch.

If you bid money on it, no, but if you bid 0 dollars then it will send you to the back of the waiver claim list.

I'm pretty sure the dollar amount doesn't matter, only if someone else has the same bid. If you bid 0 and nobody else bid, it shouldn't affect the waiver priority.

Huh, I had an experience last year where it did so I just thought it did all the time, but I'm second guessing it now.

My reasoning is simply why should you be punished for a solo $0 bid?
