Help me choose the best team! full keeper take over

Hi guys! Looking for advices from the pros. Im in the process of joinning a dynasty full keeper and I would be taking someone's team. The thing is I have the choice between 2 teams. Its my first time in a deeper league and first time dealing with the prospect/farm aspect of fantasy. Even though I know most of the top prospects, Im not 100% sure how to evaluate each teams.


I'd like to know your point of view on a few things;


What team would you take and why? What seems to be lacking in that team (Categories/prospects/positions)? and who are the best prospects within the team?


Also, any tips that would help me get competitive as soon as possible in that kind of league would be appreciated

I'd take the team with Seguin. More experience but not too old, some real forward bangers like Simmonds and Perry who will help with the peripheral categories, the slightly better dman corps, and while I'm not a fan of either goaltending group, you have the guys who are more likely to get starts in the NHL.

I would go with Team A - outside of your goaltenders this team has a good foundation that will keep you competitive in H2H in the near term. If you can acquire a 1A goalie, your team can be a top 3 contender this year.

I would go with Team B. Here's why:

When I look at taking over a team, the first thing I always look at is the goalies because I find they tend to be the hardest thing to acquire in a trade in any fantasy league and they usually hold the most value. If you already have a good base for your goalies, the skaters will come with time. I don't like ANY of the goalies for value on Team A. At least Team B has Hellebuyck to work with. Even if he isn't a great goalie today, he holds much better value than Mrazek and Varlamov in my eyes. I also like Pickard going forward as well.

I also prefer the prospects on the Tavares side a lot more too. Better blocks to build with long term.

Both teams have some very good players and some blah ones.

thanks all for your inputs! sounds like team Seguin (or team Canadiens for Dennis :P ) is the favorite. Althought I understand the concern about the goalie situation... I'll have to check what can I do to upgrade my goaltenders.

On another note, what about the prospect, I feel like both team lacks of young studs for the futur and that both team are ?old? and close to declining. Do I need to start looking into rebuilding? Or I am overthinking this?

Thanks to all the good advices here I went and finished 2nd overall in the season and 2nd in the playoffs. This team was dead last when I took over. Now I think Im contending again this year. Pretty happy how it turned out.
