In a 14 team league I think you're in great shape. Retool for me.

There's never a need to conduct an NHL style 'rebuild' in fantasy hockey. Two trades can flip your teams outlook. Ovie gets hot next year - flip him for the next big thing in a package of young players. Same with Schneider & Backstrom - and you're done and in great shape -- without making yourself non-competitive even for a season.

    retool.

you just need a good draft next year. As is, your keepers are good, but to win you'll need to draft well and have some luck, picking upcoming rookies/hidden treasures and a good 2nd goalie

Anther vote for retool. It's not like you're counting on guys like Zetterberg, Thornton and Luongo.

Retool for sure! Solid keeper group, so no need to blow it up.

Thanks for the reassurance. I think next year I will trade Ovi. It's tough because he's A so value and B my favourite player. Should be able to get two young studs at least.

your skaters are solid for 112 (8x14) keeper size and you should be able to be competitive with drafting well. If there's something you can do about improving your G keeper situation, I think your in business.

I quite like your keepers to be a contender next year. Get a goalie earl in the draft.

    Definitely not a rebuild.
    Set roster weekly in H2H (Mon to Sun) - 16 Teams - start 6F, 3D, and 1G per week - Keep 2

    Points: 2 G / 2 A / 1 PPG / 1 PPA / 1 Hat Trick / 1 SHG / 1 SHA / 1 GWG - 3 Goalie Win / 2 Goalie Loss in SO or OT / 5 goalie SO

    Forwards:
    C. McDavid, N. Kucherov, R. O'Reilly, J. Schwartz, J. Toews, J. Huberdeau, T. Toffoli, M. Granlund

    Defense:
    B. Burns, J. Klingberg, R. Josi, J. Slavin

as was stated above, never rebuild in fantasy hockey. a few trades can turn everything around. the teams in my leagues that were rebuilding a few years ago are still rebuilding. I took over a team that was full of horrible players and instead of rebuilding, I retooled and was 3rd place the next year.

retool; you have one or two years left in contention but as soon as your Capitals duo declines it is over.

    Question Re: Rebuild or Retool?

    SAME QUESTION DIFFERENT SEASON:

I am in a 13 team Capped (108M) keep all.
    ACTIVE ROSTER: 11 F 5 D 2 G (points only, with +- counting if on the net-plus side, goalies 2 W 1 OTL +2 for Shutouts)
    BENCH ROSTER: 6 players
    PROSPECTS SPOTS: 5 players
    IR SPOTS: 3

F - Ovechkin, Giroux, P. Kane, E. Kane, A. Lee, Bertuzzi, Bratt, Gourde, Panarin, Stone, D. Strome, Konecny, Hyman, Rust
D- Doughty, Karlsson, Ellis, Gostisbehere, Klefbom (IR), Parayko, De Angelo
G- Hellebuyck, Allen, Kinkaid, Koskinen, Elliott (IR)
Prospects - White, Rasmussen, Kyrou, Bean, Sparks

I need a spot for Klefbom soon, so Rust will either drop or trade. Then need to decide on Elliott when/if he returns Drop I suppose.

I am sitting a solid 4th but 50 points back of third and 90 back of 1st place. After last year's championship season, what is my future looking like?
I will have some major cap concerns next season also, with Stone, Panarin, Gourde, Koskinen, Doughty, Ellis, Kinkaid, all getting new (and juicy) contracts!
