Floyd doesn't "run", he sits back and counter-punches. He technically destroys the best boxers in the world. McGregor isn't even an "average" boxer and he doesn't have the punching power to score a one hit knockout.

Floyd doesn't fight "boring", he fights supremely technical and defensive. The "average" fan finds it boring, but boxing afficiendados find it incredibly entertaining. This is like a higher end badminton player trying to beat Roger Federer in tennis

It was the obvious outcome but McGregor did very well for someone who's not a boxer.

He lost 9 of 10 rounds. "Perception of doing well" and actually doing well are very different. He got systematically demolished

7-3 Floyd I can't argue with. 9-1 is garbage. But damn that fight was entertaining. Until the 40 year proved to be more cardiovascular fit. .

I agree with the 7-3, at the absolute minimum 8-2. Floyd didn't even throw a punch in the first two rounds so I'm not sure in what universe he could have won that round.

Obviously the judges and ref was heavily biased... they are motivated to defend their sport and tradition. look at the way the ref was treating Conor relative to Floyd during the rules discussion and throughout the fight. The moment Floyd looked like he took some damage to the body ref immediately stepped in and gave him a break. Stoppage was early as well IMO.

In any event, Mayweather did what he was supposed to do - surprised it took 10 rounds.
