To be fair about this week, you had terrible weather, teams best offensive weapon is a RB, and a QB making his first start.

But seriously Minshew II threw some GREAT tight window passes. They make QBs take this like IQ test before they're drafted and he scored the highest ever with 42/50. Like Payton Manning scored 24 or 28/50 apparently. The guy is smart. He might be the thing this offense needs.

For clarity, this is the Wonderlic test, which yes - is consider an IQ (Intelligence Quotient) of sorts for footballers.
But most people won't understand the relativity of scores simply from seeing them.

    42/50 IS outstanding
    28/50 IS "above average" (Manning)
    24/50 is average

A high score is NOT a singularly great predictor of QB success... but a very low score often IS a singularly good predictor of QB inflexibility.
(I believe, this sneaky truth, is why it is included. NFL GMs don't want to be duped into drafting a dummy at a position... when tests are available to identify the dummies.)
Two of the lowest scores ever were college uber-QBs Vince Young & Tyrelle Pryor, both who did OK in NFL until smarter defensive systems figured out their tendencies. Cases-in-point.

    https://wonderlictestsample.com/nfl-wonderlic-scores/

Opposite case-in-point is that Greg McElroy (who?) and Jay Maas (who?) also scored among highest all-time QBs in this rank.

All that said... if Minshew shows decent base tools, his mind may keep him in a starting job for a while.
FWIW, Blaine Gabbert also scored very, very highly on the Wonderlic. See link.

[Side note: One of my faves on this list is Georgia Tech WR - Calvin "Megatron" Johnson, who many don't know - was both a phenomenal athlete and very sharp.]

He's got a degree in aerospace engineering. So even if he doesn't do well in the NFL, he's got a career for sure set up.

If he can pick up a playbook and learn it quickly, and perform to a degree, he can have a career like Fitzpatrick. It's one of the reasons why he's still in the NFL. Teams know he can learn a playbook quickly so he's a solid last minute plan.

But Minshew II is still a 6th round pick. There's a reason for it. But guys fun to watch from the points outside of football. His dads not even Named Gardner Minshew I apparently lol.

Minshew II ran onto the field last night giving the "L" sign with his thumb and finger to the crowd too. Guys nothing short of confident.

It's becoming unbearable to watch the National Flags League. Way too many damn penalties called.
