(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Kreider explodes this season
Hoffman has a fantastic season
Brassard has typical season
Hartnell shows his age
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
With that format I'm pretty sure I would go Kreider, with hits and PIM cats, and on top of that I think he'll have a breakout season this year and hit the 50 point mark.

But there's definitely an argument to be made to stick with Nyquist, and also Hoffmann is a reasonably good choice.
Upgrading nyquist really hinges on the belief that no one in Detroit hits 60 this year. Let alone Gustav. But that gamble is about the same as gambling on Kreider hitting another gear( which I feel better about.)
I've got three mil to spend, I can use it to upgrade connauton to hamonic or franson, as well as upgrade nyquist to a better points per dollar player like the above mentioned forwards. Or, I spend all three mil upgrading nyquist to joe Thornton or Bergeron, okposo or Kessel.
Side question, how close will Jt miller be to kreider by year end? He's two mil cheaper and could hit 50 with pp time.

I'm also a fan of Kreider in this scenario (as long as he doesn't injure Price

I would go with Hoffman but Brassard and Kreider are close as well.
