Who do I draft first?
Alright fellas, bear with me on this one.
I'm in a 10-team limited keeper league and I need help in deciding whether I draft Matthews / Laine with my first pick or a goalie. I'm drafting 6th overall and I'm the only team left with a rookie contract (contract allows you to sign one rookie for 3 years). We also have 2-year contracts that expire after this season. A 2-year contract can be signed to any player who makes 5.5 mil or less. I'm giving out this detail because it wouldn't be out of the question for a GM to sign a player like Matthews or Laine to 2 years. Now with that said, I feel like if I want to better my odds at winning this season it would be smarter for me to draft a goalie since the pickings are pretty slim. On top of that 6 of the 10 teams in my league don't have any goalies to start with.
Here's the notables that are available:
Bishop (the only Tier 1 goalie available in my mind)
Jones
Crawford
Quick
Lundqvist
Schneider
Allen
Fleury
Dubnyk
*After my 6th pick I draft 19th overall (2nd rnd). If you guys have gone through your drafts already, what are the odds of me getting a player like Laine or Matthews say round 4 or 5? My draft is this Sunday!
