This is by far the deepest draft I've ever done. Should get pretty interesting for me in the later rounds.

Going to be pretty exciting, good luck all!

    These from yahoo projections?

I'm pretty much banking on a Luongo injury...

No, they are based on my own player projections. I did post projections and recaps after the season for all the Dobber leagues last season if you want to see how good(or bad) they were last season.

this was the longest draft with the most amount of teams Ive been involved in. I would be happy with 3rd place. Wasn't really sure how my team would stack up compared to everyone else. Maybe I didn't do too bad. lol See how things pan out by the end of the year. lol

Picking from 10th spot felt bad. Pretty much made goalies my risk factor. If Lehner can stay healthy and play well and if Reimer can grab a bunch of games (Luongo injury) I think I have a shot. Those two things don't happen It's pretty easy to see I'll be some part of the basement.

Any particular strategy you were trying to follow? I picked 9th which made it kind of tough I found as well. Surprised Kane fell to me. I am expecting a bit of a regression but hopefully not too much. I tried to focus on wingers and defence men as they seemed less available than centres. Goalies were tough as well in a 14 team league so was just trying to grab two guaranteed starters which I think I did in Dubnyk and Anderssen. Anderssen might not end up with the best numbers but he should play a lot. I felt like defence would be the hardest position to fill with quality players especially since we are dressing 6 so I felt like I did well getting OEL, Barrie and Ghost. I also like line mates so I targeted them somewhat when possible, Kane/panarin, Domi/Duclair, Scheiffele/Ehlers.
Curious on other team's strategies when it came to the draft and how they think they did overall.

Well I really wanted Spencer Abbott, but I thought he would slide a bit but that Dummy Comish scooped him right up!

I would of liked Kane too at 9 I figured the forwards I wanted would be scooped up so then I was either going goalie (Holtby,Price or even Bishop) or Defense (Karlsson, Burns)but they were all gone. I felt fine picking Letang at the time but come 2nd pick I didn't like any of the goalies left as a 2nd round pick.. I would of rather given up Letang for Quick or Jones so I would have a G and D at that point

Started out rough for goalies and picking 10th team just felt average. So I just figured screw it I'll get good forwards and go risky goalies. Not going to win drafting a solid but average team. So I made my teams win condition be placed on the goalies.

To add I don't go for linemate's. In fact I try to avoid them! But I've always played daily start leagues with no GP limit. Unless maybe if they are on teams that play a lot of off nights, they just make it harder to maximize my games played. While it doesn't really matter for this league... It was just one of a few habits that I had during the draft that may have hurt or benefitted me.

Interesting to see. Hoping I do better than 7th though!

Question – Do these projections assume each player on the roster plays a full 82 games or does it take into consideration that each position has cap on games played? If projections are restrained by the cap, are you just going off of the top 4 players at each forward position?

What I do is fill all the teams with starting position players and move multieligible players around trying to get balanced lineup if possible. Then projected GP totals are summed up and remaining games left over under max GP are filled with "replacement" level player at that position. Replacement level being the average bench player at the position in question. So for example in this league there are 14(teams)*4(C slots) = 56 starting C slots. "Replacement level" would be the average production of centers ranked 57-70. I probably should take multieligible players into account and lower the replacement level a little bit, but haven't seen the need to bother so far.

So for example Bulldogs in this league at C.

    Player GP
    Couture Logan 76
    Dubinsky Brandon 67
    Ennis Tyler 75
    Plekanec Tomas 81
    Replacement lvl 29
    Total 328
