Man, you ended up with Dumba too? I think we may have to talk.
Is there a Brewing Storm Bitter Ale somewhere that I can find for next year's draft?

Sorry I am a bit late to the party. After my laptop froze on me and autodrafted Nedeljkovic my plan went out the window; I was worried the whole time thereafter that it was gonna happen again and totally lost focus. But I rarely stick to draft plans anyway, so it shouldn’t be an excuse lol

Goalies went really quick. I was happy though to have gotten Petersen as he was my first target I had hoped for starting my draft in Round 16.

Definitely gonna try to hold my picks a bit tighter this year.

I am still all over the map with my team. Sorely lacking in FOW so I am kinda forced to take wingers like Roslovic who might get me a few but arenÂ’t really good for much else. A lot of tinkering left for me this weekendÂ…

Anyone interested in Pettersson IÂ’ll move him for the right playerÂ…

I hate being really weak in one cat; feels like I am giving it away each week.

What a fun draft. I loved the format and the added stipulation of picking draft picks was great.

I'd say I'd drop a review but there really isn't much to say.

    .... Except haha

Once he took Shesterkin I just assumed Billy wouldn't take both D with his next picks. So I went 2 forwards assuming I'd get Josi on the way back.

    Kucherov and Marner

Nope. So then it was go all in on forwards!

    Stamkos and Zibanejad

But then I made a mistake. Even though I had written down keep 1 goalie... I was out walking my son and just assumed it was keep 2. Probably could have left Helle and went Rielly here....

    Carlson and Hellebuyck

..... But then Im kind of ok with that mistake because then I probably don't get...

    Zegras and Caufield

That sets me with 4 top skaters and 2 top young guns. I'm very excited about this.

    Pick 1.2 and 1.8

With Billy having 3 D already I was ok with missing out on Trouba or Weegar and going for these picks. Looking at the other teams I should be able to add a couple very good players.

Then it was just a matter of filling out the picks.

Fun draft. Guess I'm a Marner fan now. I've never owned him or Kucherov.

I thought it was pretty interesting where people valued picks vs players. I think it went well too. The big guy I felt dropped was Mark Stone, he's a possible keeper, but not a keeper in the two GMs draft strategies.

Helly pick was...was a blunder I think lol. But it could have been worse. It was at least a guy who you keep. I was a bit surprised Shesterkin went 1.1, but that's personal preference for me. I usually have the thought of "top 40% keeper" path. If the top 40% of your keepers (11*0.4=4-5keepers for us) are solid, you will compete if stuff goes your way.

Shesterkin, Fox, Josi, Crosby and Tavares
    vs
Marner, Kucherov, Stamkos, Zib and Carlson

The other 60% of keepers to me are toss ups. Like Helly, Zegras, Caufield, Rielly, Laine, Bratt and Tage can all be really good or meh this yr. And that's like our whole league.

Solid draft by both. The top guys went where I thought they'd go. Only one I was kinda surprised was Mark Stone, but it makes sense if he wasn't in people's plans for keeping.

Yeah great draft by both GMs. Super stoked to have you guys on board this season!

I really liked Billy's strategy of targeting D early as I felt that there were about 15 keeper Fs available for the 12 spots between the two teams. But I only felt there were around 6 keeper D. Of course, there's always lots of trading available as well so both strategies work.

Don't kick yourself too much on the Helle thing. Billy could have got nasty and drafted him too with hopes of trading him and you would have been stuck with Fleury (not a horrible option but I think Helle has much higher value)

All in all you both did great with very different strategies
