I wonder if the other guy actually realizes that was a second rounder and not the 13th that it's labelled as…
He's not a Dobber guy is he?

I had the same thought, but the trade was agreed upon so I had to approve it. I've put it on record in both the Yahoo message board and the main post in this thread that rounds 1-11 will be used for keeper picks for future drafts. And Stanley Cuppers is a Dobber member, he is Cupper66.

People value picks differently. In my opinion, in a league this deep where we each keep 4D, Larsson has the potential to become a keeper if he does well in Edmonton so a second rounder in a redraft (with a seventh rounder coming back) is worth trading for a potential keeper if you need D-men. I have high hopes for Larsson this year but I really wanted Werenski.

With all that being said, if the other manager did not understand the rules around picks (although they had been made perfectly clear), feel free to reverse the trade. I'm not here to pull the wool over anyone's eyes and I definitely don't want to kick off this league on a negative note.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

You didn't do anything wrong here, no worries. The trade is fair and square, it just seems lopsided to me is all. And like you said, the rules regarding trading draft picks was made perfectly clear.

No, I agree it's a fair trade, just surprised me. I guess I just value draft picks a little more than some others do.

Lopsided to me seems like the offer I just accepted from the same GM... unless someone knows something about Kucherov that I don't. Please tell me he didn't just sign in the KHL or something!

    Galcheyuk/Hanifin for Kucherov

Well, well... at least I'm not questioning my selection of Matthews anymore!

(and yes, I know one game doesn't mean much in the long run... in a keeper league...)

As a Leafs fan, I'm already kicking myself in the arse for taking Laine over Matthews. We'll see how Laine does tonight in his debut I guess.

Tell me about it! Huberdeau, E.Kane, Little... add Trouba and H.Lindholm and there isn't much left on my roster. But now I think I'll hold on to Matthews in this league for a bit.

And what a fine debut it was!
There's nothing wrong with taking Laine over Matthews. I know many did that. And it can end up being the right decision. For me it was always Matthews > Laine, but I didn't specifically target him at all, just wanted one of the "future stars" on my team. Eichel, MacK, Laine, Kuch etc were gone, so I picked him...
