Fun ways to determine Draft Order!

Hey guys, I've been running my pool for 5 years now and I'm always trying to find fun and creative ways to determine the draft order for a draft (not keeper league). If you guys have any cool ideas I'm all ears. Thanks.

This is is how we determine the draft order in my Keeper League (just incase you guys are looking for a cool idea as well) So there's 6 of us and how we run it is if your fantasy team finishes last you get the NHL team that finishes the regular season last and if you finish second last you get the NHL team that finished second last in the standings. So my cousin finished last so he got Toronto as his team. I won my pool, so I got the team that finished 25th in NHL (Winnipeg). Now when they do te draft lottery, wherever your team lands in the lottery is what position you draft at. So I had end up drafting 2nd overall now and so forth.

I have a similar bit in one of my leagues.
In one of my full redraft leagues, we do snake style, and first place team from the previous season picks what slot they want, second place then picks, and so on. Means no one ever tanks, but it also means that there's no huge advantage, just how you want tot play out your draft strategy.
Me and my friends did a playoff draft with four of us this past year, and we played a NHL 14 tournament on the xbox against each other for rights to first overall etc.

Endless possibilities, and I feel like there are probably tons of good ideas out there that I am looking forward to hearing!

Funny you mentioned Go Karts. Cause that one way we thought of doing the order. Have a race and wherever you finish is where you draft

Way back when, back in university, some buddies of mine did a one year league. I remember it, but didn't take part because this was well before the days of cell phones, the infancy of the internet, and I was leaving campus to do my practice teaching. I never found out how it ended, but...

Anyways, they did an Olympic style sort of competition. I don't remember all of the events, but each guy got to pick one and make up the rules. Leading up to their draft and the NHL season, they played golf, fished (who got the most), drank beer, and played tennis (there were a couple other things too???). Each event awarded points to the winner, and at the end of the competition the guy who accumulated the most points got to pick first. It was one of my roommates who got to pick first. I remember when they came back from fishing him saying how well he did. It seemed like a hoot!
