Los Angeles. Why not?
- I said... "God damn this tablet is heavy!"
Pretty certain a lot of hockey persons think of Wheeler as a bit of a prick. (obv & especially Boston folk)

I'll go against the grain and pick Arizona.
Here's a preview of when he signs with Edmonton:
“Getting an opportunity to play with one of the best players of this generation doesn’t come around that often,” said the 6-foot-3, 203-pounder, in a rooftop media conference overlooking the new Rogers Place arena. I think there is light at the end of the tunnel with him as far as winning. That’s something I wanted to be a part of. He’s a special young guy.”
“The McDavid Factor changes it all,” he said. “I go back to Pittsburgh before Sidney Crosby and nobody would sign there either. But once they got a piece like that guys started going there and the team and the city was rewarded with two Stanley Cups. With the McDavid Factor here, the same result can happen. That’s why I chose here.”
Edmonton FTW...lol!

"Don't spray that urine on my sons window. If you want a dollar for doing nothing, walk to Canada." - Malory Archer
“Anyone who thinks the pen is mightier than the sword has not been stabbed with both.” - Lemony Snicket
Where does Jimmy Vesey sign?
The most correct answer is that wherever he signs, he will sign...................on the dotted line!
Where's my prize?
Chicago. Chance to play with Toews/Hossa and win a cup. Everyone wants to win a cup.

I've been saying Boston since roughly two years ago when rumors first started swirling he wouldn't sign with Nashville.
So, Boston.
I don't disagree with you Peng, except for your comment on him being "fickle" over where he wants to play. He can't talk to other clubs until Aug 15 no? His camp has revealed nothing concrete or even suggestive as far as I know. Merely the trade to Buffalo and media speculation aswell as forum chatter here suggests fickleness no?
But while I hope my big draft day acquisition lives up to the hype wherever he lands...like you said, I'm very quickly reminded of Schultz and how he worked out following the very same path. Knowing my luck.... Esh!

For clarity, I'm not ragging on Vesey.
He went to Harvard. He spent 4 years there. That's smart.
And knowing he's going to do all that, he'd realize that the rules allow him to pick his team.
Fine. It's fine, it's really all fine.
I understand it from Vesey's standpoint.
But (unlike most of the world), I try on all shoes from all standpoints when I analyze a situation.
This is the same reason why I'm a PRO-Veto guy and most are not.
Because most people only put themselves in the shoes of the two trade parties and say "If I'm OK with this trade, then it's OK."
Well... no... you have to put yourself in the shoes of all other people that are not even part of the trade, other non-involved GMs in same league.
That's "ALL SHOES".
re: Vesey.
There's Nashville.
There's Buffalo.
There's wherever he signs.
And then there's everybody else in the NHL that sucked it up and played out their ELC an their other 4 years (or until 27) with WHOEVER DRAFTED THEM.
And THAT... is 99% of the NHL player base.
So... all I'm saying is this:
Vesey is smart guy.
He'll recognize how others will perceive him.
And he'll make the best decision for him.
But he IS under a microscope for choosing this path... and others WILL call him (& Schultz & Wheeler) "fickle" for not playing for the team that drafted him.
The only people I think are dumb in this Vesey situation is Buffalo. But they took a chance and can’t hang them for that. I just never really got why you would spend any form of currency on a guy who wouldn’t even join a playoff bound team (top 6 role too) to try and sign him. Even after he said he was certainly going to free agency.
I feel semi-bad for Nashville, but Carolina didn’t sign Andersen back in 2010, and he went back into the draft for 2012. No one rags on Carolina or Andersen for not getting a contract done. If a team doesn’t have to sign a player, a player shouldn’t have to sign with a team. He shouldn’t feel like he has too if he doesn’t want to.
If Vesey goes to an Eastern team like Toronto (or a non-universally disliked team) you won’t see much hate from Nashville, but Boston will hate him. But if he goes to Boston, you’ll have more teams not liking him, and microscoping him because he went to Boston. Just my thinking.

Hope he signs in Boston...so I have no reason to ever root for him other than for him to crash out.
