Personally I would take Tkachuk.
Been studying these 3 and I'm becoming more confused than clear on my decision.
NOT FOR TEAM IN SIG. WHL draft day.
Who's the best multi cat stud prospect to target at 4?
Am
I missing anyone else who went lower but may be more valuable from a fantasy perspective?
Keller
Tkachuk
PL Dubois
?
Thanks Nation!!!
Personally I would take Tkachuk.
WHL - World Hockey League (24 Team - Daily H2H)
Maine Moose 2021-2022
2019 WHL GM of the Year #Supersoft
All good choices but from a multi-cat perspective I would go Tkachuk as well.
WHL - 24tm multicast salary partial keeper
19 Active / 6 Reserve / 15 Minors
3C/3LW/3RW/3F/6D/1G
Skaters: G/ A/ +/- /PIM/SOG/PPP/Hit/Blk/FOW-C
Goalies: GS/W/OL/GAA/SV%/SV/SHO/ShL/A
Hey HB, if I'm looking for a guy that will be most valuable in a multi-cat league, then I would be drafting Tkachuk.. Keller is going to be an assist machine and Dubois should be a #1 or #2 centerman for the BJ's, but as far as hits and PIM's go I would draft Tkachuk and be happy about it..
Zorro says "vote for Dobber"
Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
Thanks gents...esp to the two WHL Brothers on here. The thread is going the direction I expected. (Should have just titled it WHL... Who should go 1 - 24.
I'm voting for Tkachuk as well.
With how into this draft you seem to be getting, I'm surprised you haven't posted your WHL mock draft!

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
If FOW are a category I would likely take Dubois, Keller than Tkachuck. Not sure if I'm too late to the party or what.
I think all three are junk...should probably target a guy like Hajek here
Not late at all. Matthews was just snapped up by GinFizz #1. Waiting on the #2... should be no surprise.
and FOW are a category with a bump for Centers. My team has a need for Centers as well. hmmmm. Two reasons to bump Dubois over Tkachuk for sure.

lol... thanks Golden.. can always count on you for a objective response!
If it's a multi cat league, I'm taking Tkachuk. It helps that he's got crazy offensive pedigree, and a history of meshing well with star players. He's also willing to move to the RW. Guess what the Flames are lacking? A RW for Moneyhands and Gaudreau...
Dubois isn't a slouch. He's my number two. Ultimately it depends on if he can develop as a center for CBJ. Likely can but I expect he'll have a lower high end impact than Tkachuk, though FOW's help him.
Keller is third IMO. Wicked talented offensively but lacking in multi-cat's. Plus his opportunity is going to be less than the other two since he's joining a team with Domi, Duclair, Strome, Dvorak already on it.

Cats:G(3), A(1.5), PIM(0.2), PPP(1), SOG(0.2), GWG(1), SHP(2), Hits(0.3), BkS(0.4). W(2), SO(2), OTL(0.5), SV(0.2), GA(-1), L(-1). 9 Keepers in Bold. 12 player Farm team (skaters under 110, goalies under 80 gp) in italics
LW - Gaudreau, Forsberg, Parise, Hyman (C)
C - Backstrom, Getzlaf, N Foligno (LW/RW), Kotkaniemi, Carter (LW/RW)
RW - Tarasenko, Rantanen, Arvidsson, Atkinson, Gourde (C/LW), Mikheyev (RW)
D - Dahlin, Theodore, Ellis, Klingberg, Fox, Andersson
G - Murray, Grubauer
Prospects -Rossi, Turcotte, Kravstov, Tippett, Bouchard, Lehtonen, K Miller, Addison, DeSmith, Kahkonen, Ingram, Gustavsson
oh well crap... picks 2 and 3 are done. No surprises there Matthews, Laine and Pulj.
Down to me.
a) Dubois - My team currently has Glendenning (only true center) and Burmistrov and Zack Smith at Center. The last two are more part time centers it seems. I also just landed Marner for Drouin, but expect he lines up on the wing. So I have a real need at C.
b) Tkachuk - having just moved Drouin for Marner, that opens up a LW spot which Tkachuk could easily fill... but also talk of him moving the RW. Like his line mates better and probably a better Multi cat producer than Dubois, although Dubois is a physical presence as well. Other wingers include:
LW - Pouliot, Fiala, M. Foligno, Versteeg
RW - Donskoi, Komarov, Yakopov, Soshnikov (and Likely Marner)
Maybe I should try and trade down to 5 and take whoever is left!
I take Tkachuk... no guarantees Dubois sticks at C, even if he does I don't know if he has as high an offensive ceiling as Tkachuk.

whatever you do, DO NOT draft for position. just take who you think is going to be better, and use trades to figure out positions later.
imo Tkachuk is the safer pick. Dubois might have a higher ceiling but for me it wouldn't be worth the risk. i'd take Tkachuk at 4.
solid optionMaybe I should try and trade down to 5 and take whoever is left!
