Wow. Now that hurts from a team finance standpoint. Glad they kept their word though.

I think it would be great to see teams donate to charity in creative ways like the Marlins came up with. Maybe a dollar (or even 40 cents) for every foot of HR ball that their players hit. Brings added value to the event, and it's not a massive loss for the teams.

Averaging 21,000 people a game, average ticket price is $28 for the Marlins. It’ll cost them doing 61% off per game they do it…. $358,680-ish.

They've stated they are doing one game at the end of July, wouldn't surprise me to see it sell out.

I’m like 99% sure he came out to the League to ask about being in the Derby. My guess is he loves hitting bombs, wants to show he’s a threat, and maybe even gain some confidence. He joined the Derby, then hit 2 2homer games in like 4nights.
