Im hoping Shaw is in that spot and Schmaltz plays wing on top line. Dreaming in technicolour?

Schmaltz is a good player.. very sound at both ends of the rink, so he may be able to fill in next to Toews...one day. I'm sure Chicago would like to develop him as a centre for the value that comes with that position.

He'll likely see limited minutes from the bottom six next season, probably see time at both centre and wing and a few PP2 minutes

UND's championship team takes another hit, but you can pencil Tyson Jost in next to Boeser now and that should be a pretty deadly duo.

I'm with you, I have 0 games of him. Is he more polished than when TT came over?

I wonder if this unexpected signing changes how the Dobber Hockey writers feel about him being " a good middle round option" in fantasy drafts according to their Prospects Guide?? Care to comment Dobber (or anyone for that matter)?

    Predictions:
    1) Doesn't make the team out of camp.
    2) Is called up in December and is put on the 4th line with some plug wingers. The Hall-of-Fame coach states he need to play a better defensive game and learn the Hawk's system. There are whispers that he has an attitude. Is sent back to the AHL.
    3) Is called up at the end of next season and is consistently played on a lower line in favor of some gritty, less-talented grinder.
    4) Is traded in 2 seasons as a sweetner to move Andrew Shaw's 4 M contract.

Well nothing is for sure until he earns it but i'm sure they'll give him every opportunity and despite being a freshman, he'll likely snake that spot.
