In the Fantasy Prospects Report I rank him third behind Matthews and Laine. That's also where our consensus panel (14 writers) have him, as well as DobberProspects manager Peter Harling. I think his Memorial Cup performance bumped him up ahead of Pulijujarvi, at least for me.

    1. Will Adam Lowry ever reach his power forward potential and when will he be a 45 or more pt player

    2. Tomas Jurco- should I be worried about his lack of NHL production & his numerous scratches? Will he be relevant in the next couple of years in a 30 team ( count 9F ) points only league

No no no no no. Go for Door No.3 - Brayden Schenn. Getzlaf gets back up above 70 but that won't matter if Schenn gets 63 in a goal-heavy league. My second choice after Schenn is Hellebuyck. Then Getzlaf, then Neal.

Love the open mailbag, thanks Dobber! I've asked for help in the forums, but would appreciate your opinion on my keepers for next season (for league/players in signature). I won my league last year, and have a great group of players. Most are expensive though as I offloaded value in trades for the title.

    I can keep 3 F, 2 D, 1 G.
    I am leaning towards: Tavares (38), Eichel (17), Marchand (14), Burns (21), Hedman (21), Bishop (29)

This provides a great core to build around, but only $160 left for draft, which will likely be the least for any GM.

This also leaves out Forsberg (14), Risto (6), Dubnyk (11)...some other solid options, and the latter two leaving me with more $$ at draft if I chose to hold them instead. Thanks again!
    Keeper Team: $300 Auction draft, 10 F, 5 D, 3 G, 5 Bench
    Keep For Following Year: 3 F, 2 D, 1 G

Hey Dobber! Thanks for doing this. If it's not too much to ask, when looking at my team below, how much would you offer to try to pry the 2nd overall pick (Laine) out of his manager's hands before the real NHL draft happens?

Keep in mind, I will be dropping E. Staal and one of Goligoski/Greiss (but that any player can be included in a trade) and that I own picks 12 and 36.

These are the stars on his team in case you need to know, the others not listed are fillers (he is a top 8 team in the league):

    C - Spezza, Krejci, Little
W - Kane, Hall, Schwartz, Okposo, JVR, Zuccarello
    D- McDonagh, Muzzin, Klefbom
    G - Crawford, Mason

    Thanks in advance sir!

    25. I don't think he gets a shot on a scoring line. Several key injuries need to happen before he gets a look, and I doubt that will come to pass

    Thanks for doing this.

Points only keeper in sig. If I look to trade Malkin, what would (or should) be the market return for him? A lot of people are worried about his injury status, but he's a superstar, so I never feel like I am offered enough.

All teams keep 2 goalies. I tried keeping 1 goalie once . Those available in the draft and on waivers were not enough to help me catch up in the 4 goalie categories.

Generally I would look to package a couple players to obtain an upgrade. However guys like, Ovechkin, Benn, Karlsson, Tarasenko, Tavares, McDavid, Stamkos , Burns are not available.
Kucherov, Malkin are available. Seguin is available for Crosby.

    Question 1 : Who do I keep ?
Top of my head I would go with Holtby, Crawford, Crosby, Kane, Hall, Klingberg. Leaving out Backstrom & Giroux only because they are Centres which are easier to draft or pick up on waivers.

    Question 2:
Is it more beneficial to try and move non-keepers for draft pick upgrades or return them to the draft where 1 or 2 could become available to me ?

Appreciate your advice . Thanks Dobber for taking the time to do this. Cheers
Your keepers are good ones, that's what I would do. I'd consider Letang over Hall.
And it's always more beneficial to trade the lesser guys. It would be a shame to drop Couture (ride his playoff hype) and Ghost when you could package those two and upgrade somewhere. Lots of teams would keep Backstrom, too. You need to get something of value for keep-worthy players like that

I get the 'Jurco' vibe from him. I think Anthanasiou has passed him, and I think Mantha will pass him too. So I would be quietly trying to move Pulkky without advertising the fact that I've lost faith in him.

    Hi Dobber,

In a points only league, whick one would you keep between: Burakovsky, Zibanejad and Teravainen.

Also, would you consider D.Pouliot over them? I don't have a specific need (F or D).

    Thanks

Which back up goalie is more likely to become an average or better NHL starter? I currently have Jacob Markstrom but can trade him for Antti Raanta in a very deep dynasty league. I also have Thatcher Demko in my prospects list if that information changes your mind at all.

    Thank you.

    Hi Dobber,

What's your 1 and 3 year point projections on Teravainen, Burakovsky, R. Strome, Nugent-Hopkins, Rantanen and Shea Theodore.

I've got to pick 4 of these 6. Defence goals are worth 2 points.

    Thanks.

That's the million dollar question. I have Panarin myself, and at a pretty big cost (Thornton plus a little more, back at the deadline). I'd like to think that he can and will do it again. There's no reason not to. But we've seen him for one year. What if Kane gets hurt? What if Chicago loses 10 of their first 15 and the lines get shaken up? The best thing you can do with Panarin is to temper expectations (65 points?) and hope for the best (85 points?).

Burakovsky is a streaky player who I think is still another 18 months away from a breakout. I'd expect 40 points next year and then upwards of 60+ after that

Or is it too early to tell before we know where they'll end up?

Dubois for points only, and Tkachuk for multi-cat leagues (such as your league)

Henrique for sure. I'm struggling with the last one - NN was on fire the last 50 games, while Bjugstad looks injury-prone and a little buried on Florida. Tough call, but year you're probably right

Serious bounce-back candidate and I have full faith in him. Datsyuk is gone and he's never himself when Datsyuk is in the lineup. Now he can be himself
