Jack Eichel for Patrik Laine

I've just managed to secure the second overall pick in this coming draft and have been discussing a possible move:

Jack Eichel and the 6th pick for Kyle Connor and the 2nd.

At 6 I'm looking at Alex Nylander or a guy like Dvorak, Boeser.. Other top(ish) prospects..

Seems like I should definitely want Eichel, but Laine is tantalizing.

Thoughts? Reassurance? Back hands?

I don't think its that crazy.. but yeah, I suppose I'm just looking for some reassurance. Hard to watch Laine and not see buckets and buckets worth of points in his future...and I'll be downgrading Connor to a lesser prospect, granted it shouldn't be a major hit.

Oooh I wouldn't agree there. Laine will be a monster on the PP which is pretty major in our structure. I see JP as a 30/40 ceiling player with great two-way responsibility. Conversely, I wouldn't bat an eye if Laine scored 50 one day.

I do want Eichel in a bad way.. and am willing to make this swap.

Connor and Laine will likely be legit studs in their own right. But not on Eichel level.

This is very cliche, but Connor and Laine will likely be home runs, but Eichel is the grand slam here.

I like the Laine/Connor side here. Neither is an Eichel level player, but both together will be a pretty solid duo going forward.

Never trade two lower level tier players for a higher tier player. This is like trading an 80-85 point winger for two 65 point wingers. Never ever.

Now let's stick to the topic. Eichel is worth Laine/Connor alone.
