Orange County Register is reporting that Ryan Getzlaf is selling his home in Corona Del Mar 2 weeks after selling his house in Tustin Ranch. The article suggests nothing else but perhaps Boudreau was just the start of Murray's attempt to reshape the Ducks. There was apparently issues in the dressing room this year. I'm sure plenty of teams would jump at a Ryan Getzlaf regardless of the contract. BTW, the he's selling his Corona Del Mar house for 7.1 Mil after losing over 1 million on the Tustin Ranch house. Lots of $$ and houses.

Not to stir the rumour mill but someone here was recently commenting on Getzlaf's last shift during game-7 and his lack of perceived effort/emotion considering the stakes (I will have to dig through old threads but I will try to find it). I didn't see that part personally but if it is true, it may explain something else down the road...

For the record, he didn't lose a million on the sale of the first house. He barely lost anything, and made over a million on the 2nd sale.

He could be planning a move, but he could also just like real estate speculation.

It IS possible that he has wanted to sell his house(s) for a long time this year and that team management (or his own agent) warned him it might cause some distraction if it was public knowledge.
Is Getzlaf leaving?
Is he going to be traded?

A lot of these athletes just don't have a clue about managing money.
If they can afford a mortgage - they'll get it - and maybe it's just not smart.
Maybe Getzlaf finally matured, got himself a financial consultant, who is swaying him into better investments and maybe a smaller pad for himself.

I love, love, love to speculate... but for me, this one is just him waiting until season is done to attend his financial assets.

He is married to Paige Getzlaf, she's on "Hockey Wives", my wife watches Hockey Wives. That is all.

With a cap hit of $9.25 and a full no-movement clause expecting a trade this quickly seems odd, I'm guessing this has more to do with moving houses than moving teams.

They lost in the 2^nd round in 2014, lost in the 3^rd round in 2015, maybe he just didn’t have the time to do this previous yrs in his mind. People sell houses, but I think this got to be “player movement news” because Datsyuk sold his house prior to the playoffs and the news breaking out he’s leaving.

I don’t know how a team could think paying Getz like 9.5mill for another like 7yrs while trading away pieces.
