Allen vs Vasilevsky long term?

I've said for some time that I feel Vasilevskiy is the best young goalie coming through. Nothing has changed for me in that regard.

He's still a couple seasons from full time starting duties but long term I want Vasilevskiy.

Vas for me too. Has very strong technical skills and has a great frame/wingspan.

To me, it looked like Yzerman's plan throughout was to let Bishop's contract expire organically and give the reins to Vas after two full years of backup apprenticeship, since Yzerman would need Bishop's capspace for Stamkos. But Vas's health last season really f'd that natural apprenticeship plan and maybe the capspace-for-Stamkos issue isn't really an issue anymore.

All's I'm saying is that Vas has the pedigree and management's blessing. He should be the guy. But, as Axeman alludes to, the wait may be intolerable.

If you can wait, take Vas. If you need an immediate starter, take Allen.

3. Shayne Gostisbehere (41st overall) <---I could have gotten someone more proven like Josi but I am drinking the Gostisbehere kool aid. Was going to pick Josi, GHOST, Forsberg and went with the GHOST.

yeah i know. had to go with a goalie and wanted to get the best young goalie, gibby, helle were already taken. Just older goalie with high cap hits were left and decided to go with Vas. I live on the edge....see how it works out lol.

If he had still been there, I would rather have Mrazek of the two, bird in the hand and all that. As was pointed out in the Ramblings, Vas could have a wait ahead of him.
