Default If the NHL does reduce the size of goalie equipment...

Are there any goalies that you think would lose value as a result of this rule change?

As much as I like to inadvertently turn the goalie world upside down with my terrible goalie advice, I actually know nothing about goaltending.

Is this just something that will result in a higher likelihood of goals being scored across the board? Or are there any goalies that you think stand out as being potential candidates to plummet without the bigger equipment?

    Thoughts?

Less athletic, positioning goalies will take the biggest hit. Lundqvist comes to mind. His equipment is huge right now. Rinne. Luongo. Rask.

Interesting because Lundqvist is well known for playing deeper in his crease than most.

I agree with your premise, but Rinne doesn't belong on this list. He's an athletic goalie, less positional. If anything he moves around too much, and needs to let pucks come to him more. Though age/injuries might be catching up with him anyway.

Another possible factor could be age. Generally speaking, younger guys tend to be able to adapt better than the old farts.

I'm thinking this will end up being very tough to predict...

Yea, but that's not because of his athleticism. It's because of his positioning and size of his equipment.

Are there any goalies out there that use smaller equipment already? Might have an advantage going forward ... anybody come to mind?
