    Default Stalling on E. Staal

    Hey everyone,

I traded for Eric Staal, (after losing Cammalleri for the remainder of the season - at least looks that way) but now I'm wondering if I should trade for another LW. I'm curious what happens when Nash returns for the Rangers and IF Staal plays with him which could rejuvenate his fantasy relevance. Should I be patient here? One particular player I'm interested in trading for is Ehlers. Thoughts?

Right now my LWs consist of: Benn, Landeskog, Kunitz, Palat and Staal.

*Playoffs start in two weeks for my fantasy league and our trade deadline ends this week.

I would rather have Ehlers than Staal. Is such a swap an option for you?

Imho Staal is a washup that won't be rejuvenated, and certainly not by Rick Nash. But that's just my opinion, I could also be wrong.
However, in a one-year-league I wouldn't trade him for Ehlers with your league's setup. Staal is better in SOG & hits, and FW from the wing are gold in fantasy.

PS Where do you play, how is it possible that your league counts negative PIM?

You need to deal Staal away, he shall never usurp Brassard or Stepan in NY. Staal was brought to NY to load them down the middle against the likes of a WSH and an LA squad. He is simply no longer elite and no linemate is going to change that. He will help the Rangers immensely in real life but will not be a prolific scorer for fantasy purposes.

Didn't Ehlers take a puck in the face? I agree with moving Staal but not for Ehlers in a one year.

Yeah it looks like bad timing on my part! Ehlers got injured last night! Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll do some shopping.
